Waters, Ships Watch Community in Duck NC

Welcome to the Waters: This soundside home features a “great room”, a fully stocked kitchen, and a Dining room on the second level, affording dramatic views to the west over Currituck Sound. The “ships watch” lookout area makes the perfect spot for reading or game time, complete with a table and chairs. All the bedrooms are located on the first level, leaving the entire second level for relaxing and entertaining. Enjoy extensive outdoor living on the decks and the screened porch. The home is fully equipped with everything you will need for your summer vacation or off-season getaway, including beach chairs, umbrellas, all linens, and towels.

Ships Watch amenities include easy walking distance to either the ocean or the sound. We have a swimming pool, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. On the sound, we have a 100-yard pier offering fishing and crabbing opportunities as well as beautiful sunset views. The nearby town of Duck offers many small shops, stores, galleries, and restaurants.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
