Solid hotel for a short stay on Samui - would choose a bungalow/villa over the rooms in the main building (which feels a bit detached and basic). Pool area is nice enough, though directly attached to open area of main restaurant and quite shady for second half of day. But you cant argue with the view over the rest of the bay!

The rooms where very clean and in a very hood conditions. Everything worked. The restaurant had a good view and food was tasty. The service was also good. There was not a lot of privacy in the rooms, and it felt like a fishbowl.

Make sure the person at the reception understands well your check out times and flight details so they don’t wake you up at 6:30 am instead of 6:30 pm. I had requested a late check out and agreed to pay half day extra. The reception then wanted to charge me a full extra day because I went to check out at 5:30 pm and as of 5 pm it is ab extra day. Something that the person at the reception had not explained earlier. I had to ask for the manager to get the half day as I was told I could do that and if not I would have checked out half an hour earlier. So make sure your times and details are well understood by the reception managers.

Really nice location just far enough away from the ‘buzz’ of Chaweng while still being close enough to sample it when you want. Lovely setting and communal pool area and bar. Cooking courses were a nice touch

Love the staff & omelets
Nice location, comfortable bed, great breakfast especially the omelet station. Stayed in one of Deluxe villas and found that the privacy was lacking in these rooms as the path to the pool goes right by them and the windows are quite thin so you hear everyone going by talking at all hours. Also there was access to the a/c unit outside from the bathroom and there was a closet door with slats covering it so you heard everyone thru that as well. There were also quite a few mosquitoes in our room and we did get them to spray it which helped a little . So take bug spray

Like - amazing view from restaurant - replenish drinking water and towels twice daily Dislikes- Staff and service not consistent, some staff were friendly, some had no smiles at all. We also had an unpleasant experience with the complimentary transport service back from Chaweng. We had reserved 2 spots but the driver left without us and we waited there for 20 minutues then realised he had left. We had to take a taxi back and it was just a 5 min ride but cost 400 baht. Very negative experience for us.

Lovely spot with clean, thoughtfully designed rooms and plenty of space to relax by the water. A bit isolated from the rest of the hubbub but for a one-night stay after a few nights elsewhere with a lot of activity and not a lot of sleep, it was a wonderful spot to lounge and be lazy.

Friendly & Good Value
A great hotel with super friendly staff and and good size comfortable rooms. The only negative is beach access. Although you can access the beach you have to wade into the water for approx 20 meters before you get to the main stretch of beach with other hotels and bars/restaurants. The water is shallow so very doable.

We stayed at Casa de mar for five nights and we absolutely adored this place. The people that works there are so kind and they provide first class service. The rooms are clean and very comfortably with new clean towels, bath towels, complementary bottles of water every day. The food and drinks are absolutely outstanding at this place and the breakfast service holds a very high standard.

Hidden Gem, great staff breakfast!
The staff here is amazing. Everyone always helping each other and basically hand holding you to make sure you’re whole stay is relaxing. Breakfast here is great in my opinion. You sit overlooking the pool and clear water. Coffee is brought to you by the staff as they do 1 cup at a time, probably an espresso machine. Important note: there are 2 buildings. The restaurant, beach pool, are by the villas about 50ft away from the reception building that has multiple floors and fitness center. I wished I had more time, 4 days wasn’t enough.

We stayed in the deluxe villa room and it was very, very nice. The staff were very friendly, helpful, courteous and always smiling. The room was very clean and spacious for two people. The resort restaurant has excellent food and there are other restaurants and shops within walking distance too. Chaweng town is about 20mins walk away. The resort has free shuttle service to town twice daily. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay, would recommend 100%
Enjoyed a 4 night stay in one of their villas which was large, comfortable and clean. Staff were excellent and always on hand to help. Facilities were great, hotel has lovely views of the sea and is located right on the beach. The free kayaking/paddle boarding for guests was an added bonus!

This was our last two days of an 18 day trip and it was SO nice to relax here! The breakfast/bar/restaurant are was right at the pool, so we could just stroll over, drop our towels to reserve a chair and head in to the open-air restaurant. Lattes were free - and a bonus no one mentioned. Food was good, as were drinks, but you have to be a little assertive about getting them. The sandbar extends from the base of the hotel property out several hundred feet, so there's an amazing ability to splash around with kids or cool your feet, if you want. Front office staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Be careful of the sun...it's easy to get lazy and forget how strong the rays are!

I booked 5 nights at Casa De Mar. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay at the property due to booking mistakes.(I was supposed to book Aug but booked July instead.) It was my mistake to book the wrong dates but I was very disappointed how the hotel staff handled the situation. First of all, the hotel did not call me or e-mailed to my personal email address when I did not show up on the first day. I only got one message from the hotel through Expedia.... So, I had no idea that I booked the wrong dates. In addition, when I called the hotel to see if they could make any changes to my reservation. The booking agent told me to send an email. I was disappointed that they could not handle it over the phone... At the end, they e-mailed me back stating that they would not give any refunds or changes to my reservation. I was not expecting the full refund since it was my fault but expected something such as free breakfast or upgrades to the better room or something!! I paid over $700 and got nothing out of this trip. Although it was my fault,I was expecting some sort of hospitality from them. In the past, I stayed at 5-star hotels and their hospitality was exceptional. I expect high-end hotels to handle troubles better than other hotels. For example, my aunt accidentally threw away train tickets in the hotel trash can. The hotel cleaning staff found the tickets and called her cellphone a few hours after the check-out. You would not get that much of excellence from this hotel.

Lovely resort but room upgrade was needed
Great resort - enjoyed the good pool and breakfast. Friendly staff. The standard room was basic and looked out to ugly car park so we decided to pay extra for next level room which was gorgeous (but made it more expensive). The only other criticism I have is that the room bar fridge isn't cold and can't be turned down. I think they must be temperate wine fridges.

Stay here....it’s fabulous!
The hotel is so beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in a villa which was well worth the little extra in cost. It was huge and the toiletries are amazing! The staff are incredible and make you feel that nothing is too much. Pool area is great and yes there is no beach but the sea is so hot I wouldn’t want to be in the beach anyway! Great hotel in a great location...highly recommended.

Nice quiet and relatively small hotel. Only a short walk along the beach to the main Chaweng Strip. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy. Bath and shower in bathroom. Cleaner attended daily etc, Food was good quality and waiting staff attentive & friendly.

This hotel is wonderfully situated on a beautiful, quiet stretch of Chaweng beach. The action is only a 10 min cab ride away. There are lots of delicious restaurants within walking distance. Every staff member we met was incredibly kind and welcoming. When there was a cigarette smell in our room (likely from someone in the adjacent hotel, located inches from our balcony), they took care of the situation immediately. My only suggestion to the hotel would be to trim the hedges in front of the pool; the pool faces the ocean but some of the view is blocked by these. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location on a quiet beach, nice room but the vis-à-vis of the design maybe questionable (basically each room window face your neighbors window. Aside that a great place.

Cosy nook on a busy beach
Great stay at the hotel. Although didn’t realize it was separated by a street. And the cheaper rooms are not in the same area as the pool and beach area. Just a note. It was still great. Away from the busy area of Chawang but 15-20 min walk.
