Roof top bar was lovely but we booked because it had a pool and this was closed Booked twin room- adult son and daughter given a double- had to argue for 30 minutes to get this changed 30 minutes later 2 male guests walked into their room- double booking. Staff apologetic but made them feel unsafe Only1 room key- told someone would let us in if needed- phoned reception 3 times- no one came

Pool and bar on 12th floor is nice. No towels of any kind in room. No shampoo or conditioner. Called front desk. Told to call housekeeping. Called. Was brought one towel. Several calls later had all but a bath mat. Next day: You guessed it. No towels again. Dirt in elevator. Everything run down, dilapidated. Two machines I tried to use in gym didn't work. Treadmill dangerous. 2 star hotel. Good ratings I've seen are lies.

Fine stay..unless you really want a gym...as I did
So this was overall a good value for what I paid. I was really annoyed at the gym. I select hotels precisely for the gym. The room that passed as a gym was a small room stuffed with aging equpment with a dude whose job it was to sit in said room. I tried to use the "elliptical trainer"...but gave up. Th room felt like a sweaty jock strap. The room was basic. The furniture was dodgy. The food was uninspring but the masala chai was amazing. The roof top bar would have been awesome if I were 25 years younger. Highlight: they had the Oban for Rs. 500 which is a serious bargain. It may have been less. (I should have took a swim on the rooftop pool when the gym failed to inspire.)

Staffs are very helpful & caring
I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends. Staffs are very helpful & polite. Whenever we informed about any problems they were trying to make that right ASAP . I am overall satisfied with this hotel but only one thing I found disappointing to me that although the hotel in Kolkata but not many Bengali dishes on the menu .

Good hotel close to nicco park
We stayed here for three nights. Room is very nice. we are disappointed because swimming pool is under maintenance. At the time of booking they did not mention about maintenance of the pool. Food quality is not very good. Breakfast is ordinary.

Small beds in hotel room
I booked this hotel for a room with 2 beds so 4 people can sleep. Based on what they shown on hotels.com site they had rooms which can sleep 4 people. But the room (#605) which was given to me had 2 single beds in that, and me, my wife and our 2 sons (12 and 6) could not fit on those. I contacted the front desk and they said these are thr rooms for 4 people. I would have never booked this hotel if they specified that 4 people can not sleep in single beds.Please avoid this hotel if you are a family/group.

Over all hotel was good, but front desk staff needs more training on CUSTOMER SERVICE! we were not greeted properly, front desk staff seems to be upset and wouldn't smile, it took me about 1/2 hr to check inn due to his lack of training and knowledge. Gave me wrong room so i had switch room.

The room service was prompt and good although when we ate in the restaurant the food was some time in arriving and wasn't as good as the room service food. Our overall experience was good and we would stay again.

sweet little 4 star hotel near airport in calcutta
Well, iIhave to say that the hotel staff are unbelievably sweet and helpful. Every day the room was cleaned on time and spotless. Room service was also very good. The front desk answered all my questions and let me use the phone. The last night, i got terribly sick and had to be taken the hospital. the staff was so helpful. they took me to the emergency room straight away. They waited with me there and helped talk to the doctors about my situation. After I was released ( I had to catch the plane- WHICH THEY EVEN CHANGED MY FLIGHT FOR ME :) ) they brought me back to the hotel and let me sleep and have a late check out. They had one of their staff members stay with me to see if I am okay. On top of this, they even drove me the airport and even checked me at the airport. Talk about good old Indian hospitality. I was taken care like a family member. I am still emotional when I think about all the care, love and consideration they gave me! I really recommend this hotel. Its clean, nice looking and the staff are amazing! Thanks again to all the staff!!!!! Namaste, Natasha

A little Gem of a Hotel for Kokotta
A very good Hotel in a city like Calcutta where land is at a premium. Taxi driver from the airport had difficulty locating it. We were upgraded to an executive suit at no extra charge. The only drawback is gaps in louvered bath room window attracting lot of outside dust. It must be improved as a matter priorty. We used Hotel to arrange local site seeing and found the services excellent & safe with experienced hotel chauffer. Laundry services perhaps one of the best on our tour in India. A business hotel not centrally located but if you want to visit around Calcutta with experienced hotel staff driver, then we highly recommend this hotel to any visitor to India.

Extremely satisfied with our stay at the Senses. The hotel staff was very prompt in their service and very helpful with all our requests. Inspite of a marriage reception taking place in the hotel and with all other guests, they made us feel like we were the only guests in the hotel. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh. The hotel's restaurant food and staff were awesome and there were other hotels within walking distance as well. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kolkata.

Worst Hotel with People trained to say only lies.
Very worst hotel for the price they charge and we are asked to move to other hotel on our arrival as they had allocated our rooms to a marriage party booking. They informed there is water leaking in the room reserved for us and some maintenance work is carried out. After seeing the room we found there are people staying in that room and there is no maintenance work is going on as they informed. The hotel GM also sad the same lies when we asked the right reason for change of hotel . I will not recommend any of my colleagues or my friends to stay in this hotel in future.The house keeping was so pathetic and they took one hour to service coffee in room after informing.Friends who ever plan to stay in this hotel get your room confirmation from hotel desk in prior to your travel.On the 3 day we are again asked to change room from 4th Floor to 7th Floor since they had another marriage bulk booking.The clothes that was given to laundry was delivered after 3 days after our several follow ups with them . They claimed that its express laundry with next day delivery. To make it simple they take the people for granted and its not a good sign in hotel industry .
