Poipu Beach for wedding

The property was perfect. We came to Kauai for a family wedding, everything we needed was so convenient and within walking distance. The place we stayed had everything you would need to enjoy the beach. We would highly recommend

Great Location

This property is in a great location. Walking distance to a lot of shops and food. Unit is close to the main road and directly across from the Athletic Club which we loved. The Unit was roomy and great for us. It definitely could use a deep clean and maybe some new paint, but we still enjoyed it. All my family agreed we would stay here again.

Another fantastic stay at the Kiahuna Plantantion

We love staying at the Kiahuna Plantation with the kids. Very conveniently located with many child-friendly entertainment options within a short walk. Beach, nap, pool, repeat. The property was great, very clean and packed full of outdoor toys for the kids. Only thing missing was good WiFi and we've let the property manager know, so hopefully they take care of it for the next guest. Would definitely stay again.

The Poipu Plantation

We have stayed at the plantation many times. This unit is a typical, and recently renovated unit that is very clean, with a very well stocked kitchen for cooking. The management is as hands off as it gets, with minimal involvement, not towel service, and requests only through email, plus an absurd check out time of 10am. We arrived 20 minutes before check in time, while it was raining, and could not get in until a new code could be created. The management was as as sterile as the decor.

Review of Kiahuna #81

What we liked: • Princeville Vacation Rentals (PVR) is great. They get 5+ stars. • The location of the unit. It is only a 3 or 4 minute walk to a #1 rated beach. • The unit has more amenities than advertised, including beach cooler, beach umbrellas, and nicely equipped kitchen. What could be improved: • Small black gnats living inside the unit. We had to spend the 1st night on the pull-out sofabed upstairs as the gnats in the master bedroom would fly into our faces when we were in bed. Each morning we would wake up to dozens (or more) dead gnats all over the bathroom counter and floor. We found that the key to reducing the number of gnats in the unit is to only turn on lights when you need them as the light attracts the gnats. We contacted PVR regarding the excessive gnats and they tried to help. They stated that the pest control agency does not have a solution to these gnats and they show up in force after extended periods of rain. We have stayed at Kiahuna dozens of times previously and we have never had an issue with this many gnats in a unit. NOTE: The issue of gnats in this unit was also documented by another reviewer on VRBO (Oct 2022). • Furniture, fixtures, and showers need major upgrades. The flooring outside the 2nd bathroom needs additional adhesive to tack it down as this is a tripping hazard. The toilet tanks take a good 10-15 minutes to fill. • Unit does not have A/C. This was not a problem for us, but will be needed for hot summer months.

Loaded with extras!

We love this spacious property. It comes with so many extras like portable air conditioning units that were amazing at night! Comes with boogie boards, sand toys, games and more! Love the athletic club and pool and the restaurant food is great! The beach and large lawn area are lovely. The staff helpful getting us into the condo! Would stay here again!

Great Family Spot

We had an excellent stay at this condo. The property was clean and beautiful. We loved being able to open all the shutters and feel the soft breeze and gentle rain. The short walk to the beach was easy and gorgeous. The pull out sofa was unusually comfortable for our 6’4 son. We also loved having the use of the bogey boards which were in the closet. We could have definitely used more silverware, plates and bowls. The coffee pot also gave us some trouble . It has a reusable filter but the grounds kept ending up in the pot. You could probably get small cone sized paper filters to help with that. Over all, we loved this unit and cannot wait to plan our next stay!

Beautiful walk on garden path to beach

I love staying at Kiahuna Plantation. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is nearby, the pool is fun with kids & serves food/drinks. It’s a very relaxing vacation. This is a great end unit—lots of air flow if you open all the louvers. There’s no one above you, so it’s very quiet. An upstairs deck & downstairs walk out on to the lawn for kids to play soccer, climb trees, bird watch. Spacious interior, we were a group of 4 adults & 2 kids and we had plenty of room. Lots of kids sand toys, boogie boards, etc in the condo. Great spot. Thanks!
