"Very well restored property, staff was exceptional. Breakfast could be improved but all else was excellent. Jeanne (i think that is her name) was very sweet, helpful & hospitable!"
"Room and property were nice. Pool and views were fantastic! Breakfast that was included was scrumptious as well. The steam shower in the suite was not user friendly though and was somewhat difficult to get in and out of. "
"This is a very cute little house on the end of a quiet street. It's within easy walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and bars between 1st Street and 5th Street. If you don't mind a longer, hillier walk you could also go further south to City Park or to Stone Hill winery. But there's also easy transportation on the Trolley or local ride services.
We were happy to find there were more beds than pictured (3 queen size downstairs between 2 bedrooms, and 2 queens...

"Great getaway. Property is beautiful and peaceful. Lightning in the cabin is somewhat dim and the beds aren’t that comfortable, but look, it’s a cabin and not a 5 star hotel. Our kids loved it and it was just what we expected and hoped it would be. Hermann itself wasn’t that impressive. We prepared most of our meals and it is always a fun experience cooking on the open campfire, as well as s’mores. We’ll likely stay again. If you’re looking to unplug and get out of the city, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The fall and spring are optimal times. If you fish, bring a few spinners and lures for bass and catfish. All catch and release unless you’re a bluegill keeper lol. Kids loved the fishing and exploring the area. Someone recommended Ruthie’s in Rosebud, MO, which is about 20 min away….i wasn’t impressed, but it could be a fun outing if you enjoy seriously mediocre diner food. Personally, I enjoy staying at the cabin and enjoying the peacefulness. We did hit up Swiss Meats and picked items to cook on the fire, which I highly recommend. "
"The breakfast was phenomenal, the view was gorgeous overlooking the river. Can’t say anything bad about the place. Quiet and away from town. We had a great time"
"The room was small and spotless. Staff wonderful. Liz made our check in experience lovely. Grounds are gorgeous and plenty of conversation spots indoors and outdoors which were way better than a chair in our room. Delicious breakfast too. This was our 36th day on the road so breakfast variety scored points . Mixed fruit baked French toast concoction (apple, strawberry and blueberry) and a fluffy egg and cheese bake that was real egg!"
"Such a fun stay overall! If breakfast is included, it’s delivered right to your door. They even drop off little bottles of water while you're out, which is a nice touch. Most things are within easy walking distance, and the trolley is just a 5-minute walk away. It can take you pretty much anywhere. Bonus: live music on weekend nights!"
"Loved the cottage we stayed in. Very quiet and peaceful. The Staff was friendly and helpful.
Wish the trolley could have picked up or dropped off at our cottage. "
