"We stayed one night on our way to Calgary. Our host was very friendly. Our room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. A few extra touches would have given it five stars. There was a drip coffee machine but no coffee or filters. There was a kitchenette but no linens, dish soap, utensils or pots. Fortunately, we brought everything we needed and were happy with our room."
"The location is very good. Right near the ferry, up the hill and away from the highway, 30 minutes to Nelson and 30 minutes to Kaslo, lots of hiking. The rooms are spartan and the bed was way too soft, but there was ample hot water, lots of guest ice and a hot tub that I didn't get to use. The power went out after a storm, but that was a regional issue, not the property. The breakfast could use some protein as it is mainly bread and jam, muffins and cereal. There was yogurt, coffee, water, juice, etc.
The restaurant at the golf club was good, but there was no real breakfast place in the area (a decent bakery by the ferry, but no where for bacon and eggs), but a number of good lunch and dinner options.
If you go, there is an amazing hike in an old growth forest, with cedars and other hundreds of years old trees. the turnoff is 11-12 km towards Nelson and then another 11 km up Kokanee Glacier Road (a forestry road, higher clearance is best but I made it in a sedan being careful) to the trialhead. Search Old Growth Recreational Trail. The energy was amazing."
"The location was great - very central and walkable, and right on the main road. The room was clean.
It’s an older property, which brings some quirks, but it was also very tidy and we would definitely stay here again."
"Beds were great with clean, fresh linens and firm mattresses! Pillows were good too
Negatives........our roomwas right above the bar and we were kept awake til 11:00 PM which was midnight Alberta time after a tiring 5 hour drive. I suspected trouble when i found complimentary ear plugs by the bed!!!! They were useless and did not block the pounding base from the bar music. NO SLEEP FOR ME!!
VIEW was nice and the town of Creston was beauriful !!!"
