First stay in Kuwait
I was pleased by my stay here. The hotel is located a few minutes from the Maliya Bus Station. It is located about 10 minutes from the Mubarakiya Market. This was my first time in Kuwait. I was satisfied with the stay and I'll consider this hotel again on the next visit.

Closest thing to a budget hotel in KC for the budget traveler. Staff are laid back and cool and awesome super cheap South Indian street food restaurant nearby by. The souq is walking distance too.

Great location, comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast was room service on demand and was good. Note that hotel does require marriage certificates from couples!

Good place, terrible wifi
The hotel's amenities are fine, worth the money, and it's a good location, near many buses and businesses. But the wifi was absolutely terrible. On-off-on-off for the whole four days. I had to phone the desk constantly to ask them to switch the 6th flr router off and back on. A couple of times the staff became testy when I requested. So because of that I might not recommend.

OK for an overnight stay
This place was just OK. I look for budget hotels in safe areas when I travel and this one fit the bill. However, there is nothing near the hotel. No restaurants, no attractions. I felt very isolated. And the desk clerk that seemed to be on duty each time I needed assistance, was a bit surly - as if I was bothering her (I did take her away form her cell phone). If you don't need much, this place is ok for a night or two.

Comfortable stay
Comfortable, clean rooms with nice bathroom, including a powerful shower. Very refreshing after a hot day out! Helpful staff on reception. Nice Indian restaurant nearby was a bonus. Airport shuttle very useful at a cost of 6KD. Would stay here again.

For the price, it is a good place to stay.
The price was way way cheaper than the other places in town. It was okay. A lot of 1970 looking carpet and old fixtures, the staff were quite slow because the computers were messed up. For the price, it is a good place to stay.

Great location!
I was going to give this hotel a great review - until the lady at the front desk tried to scam me out of money. The hotel advertises a free airport shuttle. Upon arrival, I was picked up from the airport on time. Friendly driver. Easy check-in. Clean room. Good breakfast. Everything was perfect. Upon check-out the lady says "did the person you checked out with talk to you about payment for shuttle" - as soon as I brought up the fact that it was free - she went silent.

Felt not secure. Resident makes noise outside the room. I had to leave one day earlier. Management did nothing for the noise. I asked about the shuttle to take me to the airport and the answer was I had to request it when I made the reservation; I don't know how

Extremely worn and disappointing hotel.
I was lucky enough to get an upgrade to a suite room, and I can only imagine how it would have been if I was in the "non-suite" room. The room and the entire hotel as I could judge is in dire need of major renovation or a good round with a bulldozer. As a business traveler, I have a level of expectation of efficiency and amenities. On that, there was no coffee machine in the room, no kettle, no coffee. I asked for a coffee brewer or similar, and I was informed that I could have a water kettle, but there would be no coffee. The hotel provides a free breakfast buffet, and that was apparently the extent of luxury the hotel was willing to splurge on the guests. As it happened, I never received that water kettle either. The breakfast buffet, was honestly one of the worst buffets I have had, although it was still the best part of the stay... I asked for an iron and ironing board to get my shirt (dress shirt) ready for the day. This was to be placed in the room while I was at breakfast, this did not arrive. When I asked again, I was brought a board and a steam iron, marked "Do not fill water".. As for access to news TV channels.. France24 and BBC are available, however the signal is so poor that the programs fall in and out constantly. I will never stay at this property again, and discourage any business traveler, if you at all have a choice, to avoid this property at all cost.
This is the suite room. Narrow and long, worn carpet and poor ventilation.
Walls and head board are worn and dirty.
Corridor was perhaps OK.
Signal on TV broken, this is BBC, if you can't tell...

It was a disaster,bad and rude customer service,
Hotel showing appliances that wasn't in the room,like microwave,iron even to I have to argue to get a water heater for my coffee ,I have been cheated for 2 nights cause earlier on the 7 after having a flight cancelled I called to speak with them about the delay while they said it was Ok afterwards I got charged for it and the 21th of today which I left the hotel at 1pm at the time their booking start at 3pm

The T V did not have a signal the last 2 days and the wi-fi was very week. Great friendly staff . Great breakfast .Valet parking was helpful as they had a small parking lot but it worked.

I booked this place as it was a nice lower-mid range price that offered free airport transfer. I don't think the web site for the hotel is operational anymore as the contact email on the site was never replied to my request. However, I did get a lift back to the airport for free. The room, was a good size, but I was put next too / above a plant room, so it was very noisy, could of asked to have a room change, but was late getting in on the first night and got used to it after that. Reception were helpful and pleasant breakfast was good also and the hotel location isn't too bad in that part of town.

Great for city business
Yes, for a lot more you can stay in more luxury and have more amenities, however, if you are mostly out of the hotel on business and want a place that is quiet, well-situated, and comfortable for a 1/4 to 1/3 the going rate the Carlton delivers. Who knows what the future will bring but I got very good value for the money. By the way, I have had less impressive breakfast buffets at much pricier locales - not a bad deal.

Finding the hotel was slightly difficult as its placed within a sharp turning, off the main city road without any signs or indications. The Car Park was a narrow small turning without any shading, so be prepared to be sitting in a scorched up car if leaving it there, with the expectation of being blocked in. Check-in was smooth, the usual ID/Visa requests which did not take much time, and kindly was given an option of changing the type of bed which was kind of them. Room was small with old furniture and the view was spoiled with an old abandoned hotel, however the bathroom was of decent size and kept well clean.

Quality Budget Option
We were pleasantly surprised with the Carlton Tower Hotel. It's a rare budget-friendly option in Kuwait, and the room was nice. The breakfast was particularly lovely--on the top floor with a great view of the sea. Recommended.

Perfect for what I needed!
I stayed 7 nights during a business trip and was very happy with the room, and the staff's attention. They were prompt to respond when I reported my remote control not working. The hotel was at a perfect location (at least for me), with a wonderful Indian restaurant across the street, a great coffee shop around the corner, and within a reasonable walking distance from a very nice soukh (bazaar) and the beach. The hotel is not brand new, but the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was delightful (I only wish they had brewed coffee; they only offer Nescafe, although I noticed the same in other places). Upon arrival they provided transportation from the airport, but when departing, they charged me for a taxi, probably because I had to leave the hotel at 2:30 am. I would definitely stay there again!
