Hotel was nice and well-maintained. Entrance had steps and no ramp, if that matters to you. The staff were helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Both a little on the smaller end if you prefer more space. The location was incredible - next door to 711 and a quick walk from Kyoto Stn. They also had an onsen which I didn’t use but appeared to be popular. Would definitely recommend!

APA is a great hotel. My only complaint is the room is so small that there isn’t much room to put your luggage. They have space for under the bed storage but if you have large luggage it doesn’t fit under the bed so you end up very crowded and have to move around luggage. The breakfast was delicious and very convenient to have available to us.

Great location, close to Kyoto station and Aeon mall. Coin laundry can be a little tricky as they only have 3 small machines, good enough for under garments. Prepay for breakfast. Rooms are small in size but that is Apa’s contribution to the environment. Just enough to shower, sleep and washroom. Otherwise great hotel.

Staff is great. Fairly decent with English. Enough to not need a translator. But very helpful. Rooms are extremely small, even for Japan. Onsen is very nice for a hotel. Just bathe there, it's easier. Convenient store 7-11 basically is connected, that's convenient. Lol. Breakfast is calories.

I had a wonderful stay at APA Hotel Kyoto Eki Horikawadori, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk from Kyoto Station—which made getting around the city effortless, whether for sightseeing or day trips. The room, while compact as is typical in Japan, was impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and very comfortable. Every detail felt intentional, from the quality bedding to the efficient use of space. It provided everything I needed for a relaxing and restful stay after long days exploring Kyoto. One of the highlights was the on-site public bath (onsen), which was the perfect way to unwind in the evening. It added a special touch to the experience and made the stay feel more like a retreat than just a hotel visit. The staff were courteous, professional, and always ready to assist. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how well everything was organized. Overall, APA Hotel Kyoto Eki Horikawadori offers excellent value for money, combining comfort, convenience, and a touch of traditional Japanese hospitality. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel after reading some of the reviews. The rooms are small but it was like a cabin on a cruise ship - tight and efficient. Plenty of room for one person. The Onsen was amazing and a great breakfast.

The location is fantastic! Only 5-10 minutes away from Kyoto station and walking distance to most shopping centres and food courts. Good breakfast and Japanese bath is a bonus. The standard room size is very small, so make sure you book a larger room if space is an issue for you.

this was my third APA stay in Japan and second nicest of the three. the first one I stayed at barely had any room to move and this one is huge and a perfect little spot to sleep and decompress for the night. The Little cafe downstairs was really nice buffet style and quiet with lots of people from different countries visiting. There is 1 or 2 other hotels in the area and the staff at the other APA Hotel got me to the right place. great place to stay
