Overall it is a nice hotel, but the lack of basic amenities in our room. Our room lacked hand soap to wash out hands and they also took a few minutes past our time to check us in. I believe the biggest issue is understanding that good service requires standards, as many hotels require extra pay for early check in, this should mean the hotel should take responsibility if the room you paid for is not ready in time. The rooms are definately nice and the beds comfortable, but for less than this we had hotels with greater amenities, better service and better interaction with the staff.

Great hotel in a wonderful location. 5 minutes from Nishiki, 10 minutes from Gion, & 20 from Kiyomizudera. Great value
