All of their staff can speak English so it makes things much easier. The location is close to scenic spot, and good foods all round. Will recommend this hotel to my friends.
The cutest little place I've ever stayed. In the middle of Gion area of Kyoto with plenty to do. Onsen style bathroom was amazing. Room was spotless and well decorated. Beds were large and comfortable.
Amazing location, walking distance within 10 min to all cool spots. Breakfast was ok unless you like Japanese style breakfast. You sit at a big table with others, it wasn’t our favorite but rooms are gorgeous!
This hotel was in a fantastic location, close to the shops, restaurants and wards. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was great to come back to after a long day of walking. The staff was friendly and housekeeping was diligent in making sure one had fresh towels everyday. We would definitely stay here if in the area again.
The initial room we were allocated was downstairs and very musty, but the hotel manager moved us up to the third floor and the room was great. Not a big room, as expected in Japan, but more than adequate for our two night stay. Was a bit hard to find initially, but location was great in the Gion area for eating, bars overlooking the river, sightseeing and easy access to the trains (including the local train to Osaka at a significantly lower price than the Bullet train). Well worth the stay for the location alone!
Based on a really picturesque street, over the road from the river. Staff were really helpful and friendly. A great place to stay to explore Gion and the surrounding area.
The staff was so inviting and helpful (especially Yumi at the front desk). The hotel room was spacious, had a beautiful bathroom, and was very clean. This hotel is definitely a gem.
Very quiet and clean, comfortable beds and good sized rooms. Above all, great staff, really helpful and warm. If I had to go back to Kyoto I would stay there again without a doubt.
Excellent location near cafes and restaurants in the Gion District. Close to the river, so easy to walk into the city, and very close to public transport. We really enjoyed our stay and excellent western breakfast at their sister hotel.
This was a great location and beautiful place! The only thing worth mentioning is the under whelming breakfast with cold tempura, especially for the price. I would skip the breakfast option and go with something else. Everything else was great!!
Great location, beautiful hotel, nice staff . Quiet room and clean . We really appreciate making our on coffee in the morning.
Tea / coffee/ water available all day in the lobby.
I couldn’t be happier with my stay. It’s in a beautiful location in Gion, walking distance to downtown. The hotel smells nice, has a beautiful ambiance, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and my room was lovely and serene.
A great hotel located across the river from Pontocho and well situated for moving around the city. A quiet neighborhood. Breakfast was not easily available at the restaurant - we didn’t manage to arrange it in our three night stay.
Nice little hotel in a great location. The staff was really wonderful and extremely helpful. Recommended a great teppanyaki place, and were able to get us a reservation even though that restaurant is very busy and popular, helped us with luggage forwarding and were willing to go out of the way to help with anything that was needed.
Even though the rooms were a bit small, they were absolutely spotlessly clean with comfortable beds
