Very convenient for location due to proximity to Kyoto station, though some distance from major attractions. I never walked around much so can't speak on food options near the hotel, but there were at least a few convenience stores. Overall, very nice. The only thing I have to complain about was that for some reason, the window blinds did not close all the way so it was quite bright in the room, even at night.

Situated in a great location as this hotel is easy to get to and from the station and the shopping centre opposite the station. There is also a Lawson a minute walk away. The room was modern, with a great en suite. Friendly service checking in. We even made use of the football table in the communal space which was great. Worth noting the room is incredibly tight, I had a twin room but you couldn't really create much of a gap between the beds and there wasn't much space to open suitcases (I had small cases). The hotel is ideal for backpackers. I paid a reasonable price for the room.

Very good, helpful staff who were very kind. They helped me out a lot with luggage forwarding. The hotel's location is also the best you can get in Kyoto (assuming you're okay with no view of the river), there is a giant shopping complex right across the station, I bought many things and could carry it super quickly back to the hotel . Everyday we took the train somewhere, for example we got from hotel room to the shinkansen platform for Nagoya in under 10 minutes. I loved the room, spacious and comfortable. My only wish as a westerner was if the hotel had breakfast, that would be perfect, but I know it's not customary in Japan
