Amazing art deco hotel. Wonderfully attentive team. Great amenities including well appointed rooms and wonderful library and bar facilities. Also in great location near Kyoto station and the centre of Kyoto. Can’t recommend it enough!
This boutique hotel had exceptional service, the team was lovely and the complimentary mini-bar and snacks was definitely a nice touch. The room was spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. The little piece of Nintendo history also made the stay even more special. It was also nice to be in a quiet neighborhood but still be close to the city and busy areas. The library and open bar/self-service bar was also great. It was like coming home every night and everyone felt at ease and comfortable.
Spacious rooms with full amenities and bathroom equipped for both Japanese and Western preferences. The lounge was a lovely spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing in the Summer heat, with complimentary wines, beers and snacks - our family especially loved the Chazuke supper!
Quite possibly the best overall hotel experience we have enjoyed! We have travelled around the world, but the overall experience of Marufukuro was unmatched.
The facility was comfortable, relaxed, with a wonderful funky esthetic. The staff were awesome. Helpful, but not overwhelming. Polite.
The lounge was a great place to relax and end each busy day. The room was also comfortable and included any possible amenity. Thank you to the staff and owners. You have outdone yourselves.
We were delighted to stay at this beautifully appointed hotel. The staff was exceedingly courteous and helpful, accommodations were low key luxurious. Great location, we walked to everything
It's a wonderful hotel with professional and welcoming staff who are always ready to help. The room was well-maintained and clean in a way I had never seen before.
Absolutely amazing hotel full of history! The complementary features were such a pleasure and the hotel staff were brilliant. A short walk to the station kept us well connected. Really beautiful location and property - cannot recommend enough!
The service was amazing, and the hotel room and amenities were excellent. The Nintendo history was fascinating and done tastefully. I highly recommend staying here.
What a fascinating glimpse into the seminal roots of Nintendo's rise from a simple card making company into one of the most powerful Video Game companies in the world. Marufukuro has it all...a stunning architectural example of old world craftsmanship vs. Tadao Ando's modernist visions. The neighborhood is quiet and tranquil and is teaming with herons as a lovely bonus! Hotel staff is warm and goes above and beyond.
The room are beautifully appointed and designed. The beauty of the building is only surpassed by the attentive and ever so welcome and a helpful staff members.
I hope to return someday.
This hotel is incredible - if you are interested in the history of Nintendo before Mario came along, you will fall in love with the library and all of the wonderful touches around the hotel. Staff all so friendly and welcoming! Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing - the best hotel I’ve stayed in and made for a memorable Kyoto visit. The service was incredible and there was something extra special about staying in a part of Nintendo history.
We’ll return again as soon as we can.
