The forest and river on the property are fantastic because you're essentially surrounded by the Olympic National Park. The location is also ideal for exploring the many nearby beaches and the Hoh rainforest. In particular, the Second Beach trail is a short hike to tidepools (near the north of the beach, but not all the way to the arch) that had exceptional marine life at low tide. With binoculars, we had good views of whales and seals offshore!
The home and outdoor deck were comfortable, clean, and convenient. The host was helpful and responsive. The water level in the river on the property was lower than usual when we visited, but that enabled us to walk on the smooth rock beds along the river, enjoying the gorgeous views and the beautiful colors and shapes of the river pebbles. Of all the terrific places we stayed in the Pacific Northwest, this property is the one where my husband wants to return.
