Your Little Bit O’ Heaven: Historic Lakefront Log Cabin, Sandy Beach & Stars
Welcome to Your Little Bit O’ Heaven, a rare historic log cabin tucked beneath towering pine trees, just steps from the waterfront on the peaceful shores of Lake Bobidosh in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. Surrounded by the natural beauty and traditions of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, this authentic getaway combines the timeless charm of a classic log cabin with the comforts guests love for relaxing escapes, fishing trips, romantic weekends, and family vacations.
Originally built in the 1940s and lovingly preserved through generations, this cozy cabin captures the spirit of old-fashioned Northwoods living while offering modern comforts for today’s travelers. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel transported to a simpler pace of life where mornings begin with coffee overlooking the lake, afternoons are spent exploring the water and woods, and evenings end beside the fire beneath endless stars. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or meaningful time together, Little Bit O’ Heaven offers an unforgettable retreat surrounded by nature, history, and tranquility.
As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Thunderbird Point, we are grateful to continue sharing this special place with guests from near and far. Long before the establishment of the Lac du Flambeau Reservation in the 1800s, the lakes, forests, and waterways of this region were home to Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) communities who traveled, gathered wild rice, fished, hunted, traded, and cared for these lands for generations.
The name “Lac du Flambeau,” meaning “Lake of Torches,” was given by French traders who observed Ojibwe people using birch bark torches to spear fish at night along the waterways. Today, Lac du Flambeau remains the ancestral and contemporary homeland of the Ojibwe people, whose enduring cultural traditions and deep connection to the region continue to shape its character. We are honored to welcome guests in the spirit of appreciation and respect for this beautiful land and its rich cultural heritage.
Guests are encouraged to explore the rich Ojibwe culture throughout the area, including local museums, cultural centers, pow wows, artisan markets, and seasonal tribal events celebrating the traditions of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
Open seasonally from May through October, Little Bit O’ Heaven is the perfect place to experience the beauty of Wisconsin’s Northwoods during its most spectacular months.
Wake up to breathtaking lake views and the soothing sounds of loons echoing across the water. Spend your days swimming from the sandy beach, fishing from the dock, paddling complimentary canoes and kayaks, relaxing in a hammock beneath century-old pines, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. In the evenings, gather around a crackling bonfire beneath star-filled skies and experience the quiet serenity that keeps guests returning year after year. During the right season, you may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing overhead.

We had a fantastic time at the cabin! It felt like every little detail was considered to make our stay perfect! The owners were very friendly, and helpful! Would absolutely stay again!
A cozy and comfortable cabin, plenty of water toys, clean accommodations, we truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you, it was relaxing and fun all at the same time; hope to be back soon!
Mick & Lollie were so easy to communicate with and were very responsive from the beginning! The cabin was a lovely getaway from the city and was so cute and romantic. Our pup also had a great time and enjoyed the water
Mick and Lollie were great hosts. The cabin was rustic and the property serine. Very relaxing. The pontoon boat was great! Just what we needed ti unwind for a couple of days.
We came back to WI for a family reunion and needed extra space. This was the perfect spot on a beautiful quiet lake. We couldn't believe how close we were to the lake and how peaceful. We always love to come back to WI!
Perfect accommodations! Very clean, which is important to me. Very accommodating hosts regarding amenities and other services. Hosts were very flexible and easy to work with. Communication with the hosts was very fast and efficient. I would 100% recommend and we would return.
The hosts mick and lollie were awesome. Did everything you could ask for out of a vacation including fishing info and talking to you like a friend and not just a visitor. The cabin was clean and great for 2 couples and a child. My 8 year old had the time of her life swimming in the clean water and catching crappie and bass. It had everything you needed and more. Not to mention families of loons and eagles. Also the 4th of July fireworks and pow wow were awesome too. We will be back for sure.
It is an enchanting log cabin cottage very well equipped, beautifully decorated on a peaceful and quiet lake. There is a sandy beach with a raft to swim to in clear water. We chose the rowboat for a ride although there are kayaks and canoes as well. So many places to sit and enjoy the outside view! We loved our stay here!😎😍😀
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy little log cabin! When we arrived, the host had everything set up to make us feel welcome — a bottle of wine chilling, lights on, and music playing. Such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for a relaxing getaway. The cabin itself is rustic but charming, with everything you need to enjoy time on the lake. We made full use of the kayaks, row boat, and fire pit, and had so much fun fishing — we even caught a few huge bass! While the weather was a bit chilly for late August and we didn’t get to swim, the beach area looked great and would be perfect on a warmer day.The hosts were awesome and made sure our stay was perfect. They addressed any issues we had immediately and definitely went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. We stayed with two adults and our kids (18 and 12), and the sleeping arrangements worked fine for us with the two queen beds. Just something to note — if you're not sharing beds, it might feel a bit tight for more than four people. All in all, it was a lovely escape in a peaceful, scenic spot. We'd absolutely recommend it for a small family or couple looking for a relaxing lake retreat.
This was our forth year at this property and it was better than our first. Every year comes with its challenges but it’s always been family related, the one constant has always been this property and the line of communication that we’ve had with Lolly or Mick. There is nothing more that we could ask for, this place has simply been the best. From Mick sending me photos in February to get me excited to the way he told me about fishing spots and specific baits to use to increase my luck. This cabin provides all the necessary ingredients you need to have a relaxing time “off the grid”. I could not dream up a better place to take a vacation or better owners to deal with. I highly recommend this resort (which is truly what it is) to anyone who is looking for some down time, away from the hustle and bustle of life and go to a simpler time of beach lounging and great fishing and seek out Mick and Lolly and one of their phenomal properties and just allow yourself to completely unwind in the beauty that is Lac Du Flambeau.
Cute log cabin with a real cozy feel. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen has everything you would need. The cabin is 20 yards from the beach with incredible views!!! It is the most peaceful place, laid back, serene, perfect!!! The hosts are equally as wonderful; great communication, and are there to give suggestions on local restaurants, supper clubs and anything you need. Highly recommend this beautiful place.
We had a great time at the cabin. Communication was wonderful with the owners. They had recommendations for us, answered all my questions promptly and were so kind. I was lucky enough to meet the host Mick who was extremely friendly and personable. He made sure we had everything we needed there, which we did! The beach was great for kids, and they enjoyed the fishing, swimming and laying in the hammocks. All in all it was a wonderful stay!!!
Everything about our stay was wonderful! The host and owner, Mick, was great and very accommodating. The cabin and property is kept extremely clean and has a very nice sandy area that's well maintained right at the edge of the lake. After fishing on the lake, I can say I didn't see any other nice sandy lake fronts like this place on the entire lake. We rented a pontoon boat from the owner which was easy to do and really nice. We had a blast fishing lake Bobbodish, and had some great catches and a few that got away but we'll be back, and will be recommending to friends and family!
