Lovely, family run place for a very reasonable price. The little mini houses are spacious and we’re perfect for our family of 5. The place is just a 12 min drive from the airport and features an excellent restaurant on premises.

Good, but somw improvement needed.
The stay was good, but we dis have some issues with thw air conditioner (not working for 1st two nights). There were a couple of days when the pool was not clean, and the last week or so, the jacuzzi was filthy. That is not acceptable. The owner's dog was often lose around the pool area, which was ok for us, as we like dogs, but might be a problem for other guests. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. The first time we were thrilled. This time, we were a little disappointed. We were put in a room that was not really a separate bedroom/living room, no separate AC for the bedroom, so if bedroom door and storm type shutters put down to separate rooms, the bedroom was too hot. This "new" room needs some work. Also, parking for hotel guests can be an issue when the restaurant is busy.

Home away from home
The four days that we stayed at Quinta de Santa Casas Barbara, we had everything to feel like home, the comfort, space, kitchen, view, peace, quietness, very clean, private, well situated, very friendly, and location. I hope to return back again, but for a longer stay. I do recommend this place, you'll feel welcomed. I can't find anything negative about this place. They have a restaurant, but, unfortunately, we didn't have the change to to try it, we're mostly raw vegans, and we did hear good comments about the food. We want to thank the staff and owner for the perfect stay, it did really felt like home.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very quiet, away from the noise of town and yet very easy to get to the highway and the grocery store. Other than the hot tub not working, everything else was as-expected. I would stay here again, no worries.

Vacation as it should be!
You would never know this little jewel existed. It is secluded, quiet, tropical feeling, a beautiful restaurant, small and quaint. On vacation we like quiet, clean and fun. Convenient to most locations. The worlds most friendly people, we were totally spoiled. Loved it and plan to return.

Amazingly Comfortable Stay in the Azores
We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Despite a snafu encountered with our check-in time, we found that we couldn't offer enough positive comments about our stay. The property is beautiful and replete with all the essentials (i.e., apartments with fully stocked kitchen, beach towels, snacks, rain shower head, and toiletries; swimming pool; sauna; Turkish baths; gym; and restaurant). The owner really thought of everything! There were three people in our party, and we were comfortably accommodated in the apartment with 2 twin beds and the full sofa bed. Next time we visit Ponta Delgada, we will certainly stay there again.

Ideal quite location, although a little out of town. Good supermarket nearby open 7 days a week. Local bus service available to Ponta Delgada on a reasonable time basis. Found the climate very humid

New. Energy efficient modern
Clean separated apts on walled property just off hwy. Lots of amenities: pool, sauna, steam room, bikes to borrow to name a few. Lots of windows and light. Very comfortable. Only king bed on island we could find!

Warm wellcome and cozy place
It is further to east from Ponta Delgada but nice quite place were one can unwind and have resting good. Spacious and super clean apartement. The owner is so kind he waited for us when we arrived 02:00 AM! Can you believe it? Every detail is well reasoned. Close to the airport by car. It is only around 12 minutes or so. It has a nice rstaurant too. Actualy we haven't tried but looks nice.

A gem near Ponto Delgada.
This place was great. The apartments are modular, modern, and well-equipped. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. I didn’t use the pool, jacuzzi, or sauna but they looked good too. The owners were wry helpful. The compound is located near, but not in, Ponto Delgada. We had a car and it was nice to be away from town at night. There is a restaurant that seems quite popular with locals. I didn’t go but it was usually medium-full. A supermarket is very close, walkable distance.

Modern, fully equipped apartments
A brand new and fully equipped studio at a very convenient location (supermarket in walking distance, Ponta Delgada/Airport within 10 minutes of driving). A/C, oven, coffe machine, etc. included. We really appreciated the sauna/jacuzzi and the free bikes available. Also, a reasonably priced restaurant is on premises, just in case.

A great place to stay in the Azores
The Quinta was great. It did not have a negative review when we booked it and I can see why. The location is great, central to both sides of San Miguel island and right off the highway, but still it feels quiet and tucked away. The rooms are nicely appointed with a full kitchen and living room and everything was clean and tidy. We took advantage of the hot tub on a rainy day and the small outdoor table for breakfast in the morning. Simply a great place to stay.

Excellent self catering accomodation
Friendly welcome with a quick tour of the excellent facilities. Individual units were clean and well equipped. Although self catering, breakfast could be ordered and delivered to your door. The excellent on-site restaurant that is used by local residents as well as guests of the complex, but is closed on Mondays and was closed for a private function on the Sunday evening when we were there. A good supermarket is just 10 minutes walk away and is open every day. Would recommend a car. The location is an excellent base for touring the island.

Welcoming,friendly staff, especially Milton, who we interacted most with, efficient and offered good practical advice. Good directions and the place was easy to find. Apartment was spacious, well equipped & beautifully presented.We used the gym & sauna everyday - immaculate facilities. The crystal clear pool & jacuzzi offer a comforting relief on warm days/evenings. The restaurant was rightly priced & the variety of choice, vegetarian included, was impressive. The food was served swiftly and was delicious! The owner & his family oversee & manage the place remarkably. Overall an excellent choice for a week long holiday. We would recommend this place for couples & families alike without any reservations.

Wonderful
Excellent facility with 1st class accomodations. The rooms (suites) were well appointed and extremely clean. The surroundings were also very ncie indlucding the pool and hot tub. The restaurant service and qualtiy of food was excellent. Overall would definately recommend this hotel.

We had the most wonderful experience with this apartment, primarily due to the kindness, helpfulness and attentiveness of the owner and his family. The kids had a ball swimming in the on-site pool where we were served wonderful meals from the on-site restaurant with convenient e-ordering. The room was very well appointed (everything one could need, including dishwasher, juicer and even a welcome basket with treats), with excellent amenities (super easy to use electronics and a/c). Extremely accommodating hosts helped us enjoy the best wines from the restaurant and region. This was a lovely, friendly place which we would very much like to visit again!

Azores in August
Very relaxing, good sized rooms, grocery store close by, fantastic restaurant on property. All staff are very friendly and helpful in particular Francisco and Ferdinando. Ideal for family staying in Sao Miguel. Pool and gym ae very convenient for times we were not exploring the island. Highly recommend but rent a car as not much to see or do near the hotel.

Highly recommended
Modern, comfortable, well equipped self catering apartments with access to a swimming pool. Very quiet, secure location but with easy access to supermarket and local small town facilities. Regular buses to Ponta Delgada, but also good access to island road network and car parking available on-site. Restaurant on site provides excellent meals. Family owned and everyone was very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful, making sure our holiday was wonderful in all respects.

Couldn't have wished for anything better
Despite the fact we arrived after midnight, we were given the full and friendliest of welcome and tour. The apartment was even nicer than the pictures implied, very clean, spacious, modern and complete. Breakfast is at an extra cost but well worth it, as is the restaurant (wonderful food, friendly service, and can be delivered to the apartment too for a TV night with restaurant-quality food). The location is great with easy access to all corners of the island. There is some background noise from the motorway, mainly in the morning, but easily ignored and minor compared to normal city noise, and unnoticeable within the apartment. After an excellent experience and impression of San Miguel we will return to the Azores to explore the other islands and hope to stay here again, if only briefly.

A Gem on Sao Miguel
We loved this hotel and were sad we'd only get to spend one night traveling through on the last day of our vacation. The apartment-style room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped. The hotel is set in beautiful garden surroundings and features awesome amenities including a great onsite restaurant, pool, sauna and steam room. Definitely would stay there again!
