"They said the cooker was broken however we feel that they should have had someone to repair it asap. We understood there was no Tv or wifi but in this day and age anything is possible even if you have to raise the price. We were not told about electricity that it was a key meter it was only when an alarm was going off we traced it to electric box to find there was only 50p left on it we put key on and it added another £15 which went nowhere these are very expensive devices. "Wunderbare, abgeschiedene Lage des Hauses mit tollem Blick auf die Landschaft und den See. Uns hat ganz besonders die absolute Stille gefallen. Kein Lärm durch Autos und Maschinen. Wer Ruhe sucht, der findet sie dort.Genügend Platz für 6 Personen. 2 große Bäder. Vom Esstisch aus direkter Blick in die Natur. Stabile Internet-WLAN Verbindung mit ca. 20-25 Mbit/s. Haus gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten an einem Sonntagabend kein heißes Wasser. Per Messengerdienst das Problem gemeldet, keine 3 Minuten später kam die Rückmeldung, das sich gekümmert würde. Und weitere 7 Minuten später war auch schon jemand da und löste das Problem. Da muss man erst in die Highlands, um so einen perfekten Service zu bekommen."

Bettyhill Hotel

"We booked several hotels around the NC500 route, and I have to say, from online pictures, this is the one I was most dubious of, but I am happy to say that it has been the best one we've stayed in so far. The view from the front deck and restaurant are absolutely stunning. The pictures online do not dp it justice. The room was well kept, clean, and tidy. It was a little on the small side, but perfect for the one night we stayed. For breakfast we asked for vegan, it was no issue, and really tasty. We even had vegan haggis. I've never eaten haggis before, vegan or otherwise, and was pleasantly surprised to discover how delicious it was. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are traveling the NC500."

Altnaharra Hotel

"Since the TV show 'A River Somewhere' in 1997 I have wanted to visit this hotel! For that reason I loved it. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent, parking is plentiful and the scenery magnificent. Lochs are all around with a real history of successful catches! However, I was incredibly sad to see this historic hotel, in this stunning scenery struggling in these current times. Having been a popular resort since 1886 I feel it should be supported and resurrected into 'the place to go' once again. I don't understand why the Scots aren't clambering to reignite a passion for a place with such history in such a unique situation. It's a place where you really can switch off from the world and reconnect with nature. I would recommend to everyone to visit, take your time, drive carefully, look around and someone, for goodness sake, come up with a way to keep this landmark alive!"

Kincraig Castle Hotel

4/10 Poor

"This property was severely lacking for the price point. We have stayed in “ castles” before, so we know what to expect. Kincraig’s exterior looks dirty. The roof needs attention. There are missing slates. The windows need some type of weather seal to help keep moisture from coming in rooms. Our pillows and bedding were damp. The bedding was very poor. They did have a mattress cover, but instead of a fitted sheet, they used a flat sheet. The pillows were the worst! They were flat and didn’t fluff. The wallpaper on the ceiling and walls were noticeably starting to peel. There wasn’t any soap by the sink. Glasses by the sink were put straight on the surface, not on a paper doilie. We did not have any extra toilet paper and had to swipe some from the gents in the hall. There were cobwebs in the bathroom and hall. Parts of the shower were really dirty. The common room and dining room were okay, but you could see peeling wallpaper and water marks on ceiling and walls. The decor was weird, mixing old traditional furniture you would expect with contemporary stuff (glass bubble lamps). Breakfast was okay. Dinner was overpriced for what it was. They tun on a skeleton staff. Vijay makes the experience better. A young 15 year old girl ,at dinner, was also very good. This place needs a good scrub, new bedding, and a rebrand. The actual place doesn’t match photos presented. It looks more like a hunting lodge."
