Great house for a large family

Great stay! The house layout was accommodating for our family with 10 adults & 3 children. We still ended up with extra empty beds. The owner Flora is extremely responsive. We hope to stay here next year.

Great Layout for big Family

Our family of 13 stayed at the Lion's Den and had a good stay. The ping pong and foosball were big crowd pleasers. It was great how the bedrooms were spread out, so that early risers and night owls hanging out in the living room didn't bother the others trying to rest. We had plenty of seating for meals and for hanging out. It was curious why a property of this size only included 5 beach passes, but that limitation was communicated clearly and up front, so I can't really complain. Flora was quick to respond to all questions and that is greatly appreciated.

Wonderful Christmas Stay

This property has a wonderful layout for our large group with wide age ranges. Bedrooms have privacy and quiet as they are away from the main area of the house where sometimes it could be loud for a mama trying to put little ones to bed. Also, a separated game room area for the littles ones who were up extra early in the morning while others wanted to sleep in! A quick 5 minute drive to Big Boulder for skiing and nice local ski rentals if you don't want to rent on sight. (CountyLine Ski Rentals) The outdoor jacuzzi was a lovely respite after a couple of days on the slopes!The owners were immediately responsive to an unfortunate issue that occurred with the thermostat/heater due to a power outage and blown transformer nearby which could not be resolved over the phone. They drove 2 hours on Christmas afternoon to make sure to get the issue resolved and that we were comfortable!

Great place!

We had a fantastic stay! The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and even more charming than the photos. It truly felt like a home away from home — comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with all the little touches that make a big difference. Friend getaway

Flora was a fantastic host! The house was exactly as described and pictured, and she was always available when I had questions(which is prob more than normal people haha). She accommodated a large group of us who were traveling from all over the country and it couldn’t have been any easier. I would highly recommend her property to anyone with a large group and if we do this again, we will for sure use this house. Thanks again for an easy and fantastic trip for us!

My birthday celebration!

We had a wonderful stay in the Poconos. We were celebrating my 60th birthday. My husband, 3 adult children &their spouses, and 5 grandchildren were all there. The house is very big and well stocked!. The kids enjoyed having a driveway to ride their bikes and we enjoyed sitting outside around the firepit. It was close enough to the beach, close enough that some went golfing and my husband went hiking. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Flora!

The LIONS DEN is AWESOME,

Our entire family enjoyed the weekend at this home! Flora was great to work with and responded right away to all inquiries while we were planning the trip and once we arrived. Things we most enjoyed: * the house being all on one floor * there was plenty of shared space as well as private bedroom space * The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived * having linens and towels included helped lighten our travel load * hot tub was clean, hot and ready to use * outdoor fire pit was enjoyed by everyone in the chilly morning and late nights * enclosed game room for kids to enjoy w/sliding doors I WOULD RENT FROM FLORA ANYTIME! This house is a "keeper"!

Nice house, but not without issues

The property was mostly surface clean but a bit tired and worn. No one in our party thought the hot tub looked clean or inviting enough to use. There were coffee grounds left in the pot when we arrived that were getting a bit moldy. Two of the bedrooms are in an addition that don't actually have air conditioning which was uncomfortable in the summer. The sheets were stored in plastic bags, and we arrived to find several sets of them damp and mildewy. And the beach access pass was not on the premises when we arrived. We contacted Flora about these last two issues who resolved them as best she could. Those issues aside, the property had a nice functional layout for our large family. It had a large dining table and common room for everyone to hang out, while also having the benefits of the extra game room for individuals to get away a bit. The house was a short walk or drive to the beach, and the nearby town was nice.

Lots that's good, but some issues

We stayed for a weekend with two other families with kids. We loved that the house is all on one level. Lots of space for kids to play, the nearby beach was great, and we enjoyed the hot tub as well. The host, Flora, was very friendly and responsive. Unfortunately, the house could use a little extra TLC and had some issues: The house was not as clean as we would have expected. While free from debris, the floors felt a little sticky, like they hadn't had a good cleaning in a while, and many of the pots and pans were in bad condition (non-stick coating peeling off, caked on grime) and even a lot of the dishes didn't feel clean enough to use without re-washing first. Perhaps this was related to the fact that the dishwasher was damaged and the dishes weren't being cleaned properly. There was also water leaking out from under the fridge, and 7 out of the 10 promised beach passes were missing. When I contacted Flora about the dishwasher, refrigerator, and missing beach passes, she responded quickly, and was very understanding and apologetic. But unfortunately the issues weren't able to be solved during our stay. Finally while we did bring our own towels as instructed, we didn't realize there wouldn't be any bathmats in the bathrooms—making for slippery and dangerous floors after a shower—or dish towels in the kitchen. Overall, the house has a lot of great things about it, but it definitely needs some attention.

Great layout and outdoor space!

We loved the layout of this space- with toddlers in tow it was nice to all be on one floor. The hosts were easy to communicate with and we liked that the sheets were provided, as our previous rental in this area did not include them. The kitchen was well stocked. Our only gripe was that the floor was dirty and there were no carpets in the living room (made the room very echo-y and nowhere to wipe off dusty feet), so everyone had to wear socks the whole time, but it was a small concession!

good location and set up for multi-family gathering

The home was a great layout for our families to gather. All issues with the house (fire alarms going off randomly, broken shower door, mold, dust and dirt throughout the house) were addressed promptly by Flora. She and her husband drove down from NY to tackle the issues which was appreciated. We would consider staying again, only after the time the deep clean happens 1x yearly in September. House does need some attention and TLC. Beach access was a plus, hot tub was a nice way to relax in the evening along with the firepit which we all enjoyed. Close to fun day trips and excursions. Thank you Flora for all of your help throughout our stay.
