As a family of 6, it isn't always easy to find an affordable getaway that also gives you great value and bang for your buck. This property accomplishes this. There are multiple large areas for everyone to hang out, with the "crown jewel" of areas, the lower level game room and bar, being the most impressive. A beautiful regulation-size pool table, two dart boards, Xbox on a giant screen TV and a 6 person bar kept everyone entertained every single night!
The 3 bedrooms easily accommodated our family of 6, but the added flexibility of the bunkbeds in the loft, and the futon in the lower level is a huge plus.
Every morning, we enjoyed watching multiple deer come right to the bottom of our deck to munch on some feed one of the other owners placed strategically for just that purpose. The house is located directly next to Big Boulder Lake and about 1 mile from Lake Harmony. The down side of this is that we found out that you must be a member of the Big Boulder community to take advantage of that lake's perks and Lake Harmony, although technically public, is surrounded by private residences which essentially makes that lake inaccessible also. Not a huge deal, though because there are plenty of state parks nearby with water access to please (we LOVED Beltsville Lake - public beach, super-clear water, great fishing). Also great restaurants nearby, along with Split Rock golf course, which is one of the hardest courses my son and I have played!
The townhouse community does have a pool for your use, along with two tennis courts. The pool is beautiful, but chilly (you are in the mountains!) but the tennis courts are in awful condition - still ok enough to appease novice players, but that is about it. The community also needs to repave the roads within the area - some of the potholes were nearly six feet wide and felt almost as deep!
Chris was VERY helpful throughout the process and the week we were there. We truly loved our stay and are already eyeing up a return in 2020! If you are looking for a great value vacation for a larger family, look no further!
