Our family really enjoyed staying at this property. The wildlife was amazing to see. We had fun feeding the deer, one was brave enough to feed from our hands. Cottage was well stocked and very clean with comfy beds. Our host replied asap to any questions we had. It was a great family retreat
We had a lovely stay. The host was very nice and the cabin was well stocked. One of the best. There were lots of wild animals roaming the area. We even saw a fox one night. The fire pit wasn't only stocked, but already had the fire ready to light.
We started feeling the 'nature' of the place the day we checked in. There were deer in the back and front yards and we had already seen turkeys on the road into the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and the birds, deer, foxes etc just added to our enchantment and enjoyment. Lake of Bays was also lovely and great to swim in. Wonderful time had by all, we could be back.
We loved our stay. It was tranquil, peaceful, tons of wildlife and things to do if you want, or don’t want. The cottage was a lovely getaway and we hope to visit again!
Cozy, warm cottage tucked into the forest, with every amenity you could need, and a short walk away from a dock on the beautiful sandy-bottomed beach. We loved our long weekend stay with family.
A lovely weekend away to see the fall colours, and enjoy Lake of Bays with a bit of nearby hiking. The cottage was perfect for our needs, and Marcie provided everything we needed (and more!)
Thanks for a great stay!
The cottage was well-equipped with all necessary amenities, with consideration for children and the hosts were very thoughtful and friendly. The spacious accommodations comfortably housed our party of five (three adults and two children) and offered convenient access to a dock with lily pads, which our children thoroughly enjoyed. The children also delighted in feeding the deer that visited the property several times a day. We were even fortunate enough to observe a fox. Overall, it was an ideal retreat in a charming cottage.
We had a wonderful week at this beautiful cottage! It was clean, comfortable, spacious ,and well appointed. We loved the outdoor space as well-especially the fire pit -and we even loved the walk to the dock. The dock is a good size that accommodated all 6 of us.
This cottage is a beautiful retreat, nestled in nature. Very peaceful. Lots of deer and wild turkey came to visit us while we stayed. Marcie and Brent are very thoughtful hosts. They left lots of amenities to help us feel welcome and at home. It was also very easy to reach one of them when we had a tiny issue with one of the technical gadgets at the cottage. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, perhaps in the summer?
This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the cottage and we have enjoyed it both times. There were 4 adults and one dog. Plenty of room for everyone. The beds are comfortable, the cottage is nice and warm and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had a fire in the firepit both days. It was a nice surprise to find the wood piled and ready to light when we removed the cover the first day. We will be back next February! Thank you Marcie & Brent
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. We liked sitting on the decks, both front and back. These were great places to read a book or just chat. Very peaceful and quiet. We also liked watching the sunsets from the dock and exploring the nearby towns. The cottage itself was well equipped, and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. And we really enjoyed the campfire pit. Overall, I’d have no hesitation recommending it to anyone looking for a bit of time at a nice cottage by a lake.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The host was so kind and welcoming and available to answer questions. There was a short walk to the dock, however, the dock was large and had chairs, table, umbrella, and nice shallow water and Sandy bottom for swimming and playing. We traveled with teenagers, who especially enjoyed the high-speed internet and entertainment system on a rainy day. Everyone in our family had a great time. There's a beautiful fire pit, with marshmallow sticks and kindling. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There's 2 and 1/2 bathrooms, washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge with basic condiments, spices, utensils, everything you need. There's also air conditioning, games, they even have beach towels. We were delighted by the wildlife, there's chipmunks and deers, it's also close to Regged Falls which we had a great hike at. The kitchen had anything you could possibly need. We even made spaghetti in the Crock-Pot, the barbecue is fantastic to use, the house is open and there's plenty of room for everyone. It's also close to the grocery store and there's a great chip wagon close by too!
Thank you Marcie for being such a gracious host and for setting the stage for a wonderful family holiday ❤️
After a very rocky start, our family weekend turned out to be a very good time. We had been given the wrong lock box code and wifi address/password, so we couldn't get into the property or contact the owner. Luckily a neighbour across the street was very kind, and allowed me to come in and use her wifi, so I could send a note to the owner through the site. We waited over 2 hours in the front yard, but then got the call with the correct access code so we could enter. The owners are very nice, and they did give us a small refund to make up for the rough start. The cottage is beautiful inside. I would say it's a little tight for 6 adults, as the 3rd bedroom is quite small for a couple, but the main floor bedroom is great, and the big bedroom upstairs with a balcony overlooking the back of the property is very nice as well. We love being on Lake of Bays, so we rented a boat from Lake of Bays Marina close-by, and we toured around the Lake with a stop in Dorsett for ice cream. We took a lot of walks, saw several deer, a couple of foxes, 2 pheasants, and a few blue jays. We didn't spend a lot of time on the dock, as it's a bit small and was shaded for much of the days (until the sun hits it mid-late afternoon), but we did go there for a couple of short visits, and friends came over on Sunday and were able to dock their boat in front of the dock. I definitely would prefer being lake-side, however this cottage is very nice and gave us a wonderful labour day weekend with our family!
We had the best time at this cottage — the weather couldn’t dampen our spirits even though it tried its best.
The cottage was just as advertised - if not better. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities you would expect at home but not necessarily the cottage. Great sound system and Apple TV that came in handy when it was raining out, a well stocked kitchen for utensils, plates etc and a dishwasher (big bonus!), comfortable beds and lots of space for us plus our big dog.
The private dock truly is a very short walk down the road from the cottage. We packed our cooler bags with our drinks and snacks, and with the table and umbrella we were perfectly comfortable out at the dock all day as we were shaded when we needed it. The water was PERFECT! Clear, cool but warm. It was easy enough for our dog to get in and out of the water without having to jump off. There are other docks right next to this one, but the neighbours were all lovely and everyone was able to enjoy their space.
The instructions and area information were so helpful and clear. One of the things I appreciated the most was the clean up info - it was the perfect balance of reasonable expectations to tidy up/reset before we left and what the hosts would take care of. It was a really pleasant surprise, vs at other listings, to be able to leave some recycling/garbage in a convenient place, and to tidy up. We didn’t feel like we were on high alert before we left; it was refreshing!
Thank you!!
Cozy and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the ability to use the fire pit. Close to Algonquin Park where we enjoyed hiking and snowshoeing.
Booking site was very user friendly and provided what it advertised
The cottage was cozy, comfortable and clean. The amenities were well thought out very much appreciated.
We would highly recommend this destination to everyone.
