Needed a place to stay for a long weekend to get away from it all -- this was perfect! Charming little one-bedroom with all the amenities you need, clean, easy to get into town or out into the mountains, and the owner is an excellent hostess!
This space was perfect for our stay in Lake Stevens. It was clean, cozy, thoughtfully designed and Marilee was an excellent host. We will definitely be booking again the next time we are visiting the area.
This was a great cottage. Easy access, close to where I needed to be. It was comfy-cozy, dressed for the season and great attention to hospitality details. I felt safe and cared for, looking forward to a return visit.
Visiting friends and family in town, but needed a place to also work. This location was very convenient super clean and the owner is very friendly. We had a lovely stay and will be back!
This little cottage at the back of Marilee's property is a gem. Close to things we wanted in Everett, but quiet and tucked away "in the country"... what a delight.
An adorable and super functional bungalow with an exceptional host!
This place was just perfect. We were here to visit my nephew and his family who live nearby, and to celebrate my Mom’s 83rd birthday. Location is great — right next to the beautiful lake and close/convenient to everything. Marilee is the best host and has created a cozy place where she has clearly thought through how to optimize every single square inch of the space to make guests comfortable and have everything they need. And she’s incredibly nice, accommodating, and responsive. We will 100% be back!
If you are on the fence on whether to book this property or not, Book It! My husband and I found this gem by researching places "near" North Cascades National Park. We didn't get to enjoy the outside space (which was quaint and adorable) because we would hike all day and then honestly eat and go right to bed. It has everything you would need or want. The owner has thought of every detail. The kitchen was perfect and very well equipped. Linens and towels, etc are all provided. It doesn't have AC, which we were worried about, but it didn't bother us at all. We actually both got a great night sleep and woke up refreshed! The parking is great and the owner left us a personalized welcome note, which was so thoughtful and appreciated. It is modern and updated and really has so many little details that make a difference. One of the biggest things we loved and what made our stay so comfortable, was how clean it was. You can tell it is well cared for and cleanliness is big to us. It surpassed all our expectations and I would recommend this place to anyone looking. We didn't get to explore the Lake Stevens area at all because all of our time was in the North Cascades, but it looked really nice. If we ever come back, we know where we will be staying again!
Everything about this place was wonderful. The host was right on point on every aspect of the stay. The amenities were great and everything was as advertised. Would recommend this place to anyone!

This is the nicest rental we have stayed in. I rarely give 5 stars, but this property was perfect in every way--it is easy to access; has good parking; it provides every amenity; the host is awesome; the grounds are beautiful; the bed is comfortable; and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Backyard Bungalow.
This was perfect for me and my buddy to get some peaceful rest all weekend when we weren’t out partying with our friend who turned 40. The place was quiet, clean, and cozy, and the host was very nice and accommodating.
What a great place to stay at. Beautiful and comfortable. Marilee was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay there on my next visit.

The owner was very helpful. The property was in a great location. We will be back.
Beautiful, clean, very comfortable and well appointed little cottage with some outdoor amenities as well. Ideal for visiting the Lake Stevens area. One can walk to a little park on the lake, and there is a coffee stand across the street from the entrance to the park.
