"There is no staff on site but the person who handles check in via phone was very attentive and communicative. The room was as described. New towels are needed, but other than that, everything was great."
Beautiful Lake Views at this Dog Friendly home on Rainbow Lake
8/10 Good
"The location is perfect for anyone that wants access to Rainbow Lake. It’s feet from the yard. The home itself is very clean but could use a little TLC. Many repairs were amateur, like insulating the AC unit with wadded up shopping bags and replacing a commode but not painting the wall behind it. We were unable to run the window AC units in the bedroom and living room without tripping a breaker and it was quite warm with no storms rolling through to lower the outside temps. There is quite a lot of traffic day and night due to the location and headlights in the bedroom windows was something to adjust to during our stay. The home is safe, well stocked and clean. We didn’t bring our pets but there is a large fenced yard that would have been perfect for them. Overall it was a good stay and the location was ideal."
"Rainbow's End Resort is located on Rainbow Lake as advertised. It has small quaint fishing cabins, docks, watercraft for rental, and live bait for purchase. It was a perfect place for our family of four to spend time together and fish. We did not have unrealistic expectations of the cabin, it is rustic and very cozy. It was perfect for 2 normal size adults and 2 kids. One queen bed and a bunk bed. Larger individuals might be cramped. The cabin had everything we needed including dishes, utensils, BBQ utensils, small stove, and grills outside the room. The kitchen is small but efficient, and we preferred to eat outside at the picnic table just in front of the door/patio deck anyway, so the kitchen size was not an issue for us. We were there to enjoy the outdoors, cooler temperatures, fish, and not stay in the room. Patio deck chairs are so comfortable. Chuck left the keys with directions on office door. He was available during the day at the watercraft rental, if you had any questions he could be reached by telelphone when needed. We had no issues. He recommended some good local places for dinner and we enjoyed the Tipsy Hippy Grill and Lovely Bear Cafe. We rented a 4 person paddle pontoon, which is highly recommended if you can paddle. The lake is so pretty. The kids caught 8 catfish. We thought the whole experience was excellent for our family and can't wait to come back next summer!"
"Cabin was clean. Included kitchenette with small fridge with freezer along with dishes and cooking utensils. Two small bath towels, two hand towels, and two wash cloths provided in the bathroom. Felt comfortable and safe.
Lake was pretty but wasn’t regularly maintained. Apparently some guests decided it was ok to leave garbage behind around the shore line, docks, and boats. Boats were available to rent for $10 for 1 hour and $5/hr after. They also have fishing gear and bait available in the office.
Decent fishing spot. Lots of surrounding wildlife make their way to the lake and very cool to see.
Restaurant across the street Tipsy Hippy Grill is nice, there is also a gift shop with wine and whiskey tasting. Was our “going out” spot each night. Sports on all tvs, two areas of seating indoors and lots of outdoor seating with yard games. Plenty of menu options.
We checked out several of the local boutiques which were all well kept. Recommend eating lunch at The Bistro at Annie’s. It was really nice, staff were quick and attentive, food was better than expected, and ambience was great. Dinner time you would need to make reservations.
Several hiking trails around the Lake in the Woods resort, there is a map in the rec center cabin room. The rec room has two ping pong tables. Has a playground.
Quiet hours of campground are 9pm-8am, most people seemed to stick to it.
Would probably stay here again, but might try some others around the area first.
Overall, I would recommend."
