"The front desk staff was excellent, the gym was surprisingly good, the breakfast had a nice variety, the hallways and elevator and rooms were clean, and the place just had a nice, clean, newer feel to it. I saw quite a few business people in the morning at breakfast. It seems like a place where professionals choose to stay when in the general area. "

"We loved the wide open space around the home and the swing! We walked down to the dock several times each day to enjoy the sunshine and water, the sunsets, and even the stars. This adorable cottage is not too far from local conveniences like a grocery store and several places to eat. We explored Haven Beach and Williams Wharf. We loved Haven Beach for how pretty it was and that it was dog-friendly! Our lab loved playing in the water! We enjoyed cooking on the grill each night and sitting on the deck well after the sun went down. It was a lovely place to stay, and we certainly would visit it again!"

"Rooms are dirty and have roaches. Lamps and televisions are broken. Requested a refund and was told one would be issued on the “honor system” until Hotels.com staff got involved. "We have stayed at Gwynn’s Island Cottage four times now and each visit only gets better. Cheri is the most thoughtful and welcoming host — you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The Cottage has always been immaculate and has everything you could ever think to need during your stay. The views, the water, the private beach.. it’s almost surreal. We bring our dog who enjoys the beach and water as much as we do. The sunsets every night are breathtaking. With great restaurants on the island and nearby in Mathews, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect location for a getaway. We are so thankful Cheri shares her little slice of heaven and are already looking forward to our next visit!! "
