Rocky Top Retreat-Decorated for Christmas Near NPS

Summary:

Rocky Top Retreat is a newly built cabin featuring a large covered wrap around porch for relaxing and enjoying wildlife. Inside the space is adorned with shiplap walls, cypress floors, concrete countertops and black stainless appliances. There is also a gas fireplace and lots of custom carpentry. It’s truly a unique space in our area that combines traditional materials with modern conveniences.



The Space:

RTR offers 1 Private King Bedroom on the main level and a Sleeper Sofa in the Great Room. You'll find a second Private Queen Bedroom upstairs as well as an open sleeping loft with a Queen and twin bed. A roll away bed is also available.



Guest Access:

Once guests have completed required documents, guidelines and codes will be delivered the day of arrival.



The Neighborhood:

Our Cabin is less than a mile to Adventures on the Gorge. The New River Gorge Bridge is within a couple of miles and downtown Fayetteville is 4 miles away. Rafting, hiking, biking,climbing,swimming, and fishing are all nearby. Summersville lake is a short drive away.

Comfy cabin for excellent fall hiking weekend

The cabin was more than perfect for three of us and two dogs for a fall hiking weekend. It had everything we needed for lazy mornings before we hit the trail and relaxing evenings after. I would definitely return.

Great Location!!

We met our family there with all of our kids and it was perfect. The location was near all kinds of attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in the future. We didn’t explore near as much with having such little kids but it’s definitely family friendly. There was something for someone to do at the cabin for all ages. Highly recommend this cabin for your next family vacation.

New River family fun

We stayed 2 nights in the Rocky Top retreat and absolutely loved it! It was a very comfortable, well-appointed cabin in a great location. We had kids, parents, grandparents and the house had something for all ages. We loved sitting on the porch and playing games and watching the sunset. So close to all the beautiful New River gorge has to offer.

Fayetteville weekend

We rented the cottage for a weekend away with our 2 kids (9 and 6) and had a wonderful stay. The cottage was beautiful, pristinely clean, and appointed with everything we could need for the weekend. Great location-just minutes away from Adventures on the Gorge. Host even had a S’mores kit in the kitchen and games in the living room. Beautiful wrap around deck. Would definitely stay here again!

Rocky Top Retreat

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the RTR! It was clean, stocked with starter products and essentials and exactly as pictured in listing. Location is great!! Mere minutes to AOTG, Fayetteville, the Bridge and all the Gorge has to offer. Great porch with hot tub, grill, swinging chair and nice fire pit in yard. We would definitely stay again!

Cabin was easy to find, great directions provided and not too far away from Hwy. Informational I-pad video was super helpful. Floors a bit loud but typical for a cabin. Cabin was nice and clean! Neighbor dog’s barking was not an issue at all.

We missed the peak foliage by about a week. But the accommodations were very nice. Cabin was roomy and comfortable. Everything we needed was available. The gas fireplace was a very nice touch. Since it was chilly during our stay it was very welcomed. Would recommend this cabin ti friends and would definitely stay there again

Wonderful West Virginia Stay

We had a great stay at this WV property. It was me and my husband and our adult children. Great location, tastefully decorated and beautiful surroundings. The only drawbacks was there is not a washer and dryer on site which would've been nice to have to wash clothes after doing area activities (but that was my fault for assuming it had it) and even though property sleeps 8 people it doesn't entertain 8 people comfortably. We had 7 Adults. Would've liked another lounge chair and better lighting for playing games at table. Otherwise we had a great time! Thank you Michael for opening your house up to us.

Family adventure

We enjoyed our stay at Rocky Top Retreat. The house was located in a secluded area, yet very near to the hiking, kayaking, and river rafting we had come for. The interior felt spacious and comfortable. The appliances seemed new and of good quality. The bed linens were luxurious, and there were little surprises, like a bottle of blackberry merlot, that were an unexpected pleasure. We particularly enjoyed the covered porch on 2 sides of the house, and the hot tub at the end of the day. The air conditioning was efficient. We didn't use the fireplace. The owner made himself very accessible for questions and conversation. We had a great week!

Nice and secluded, yet close to the activities

The cabin is located in a very quiet area. It's an older cabin so the floors are very loud when walking on them. The upstairs bathroom only has a tub. The listing stated that there were 2 bathrooms with showers, there is only 1. The wrap around porch is a great location to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The neighbors dogs were in a fenced in area and only barked when we drove up the driveway. The loft area has been closed off from the main floor so it's a little different from the pictures. We did have a problem with a bathroom light and it was fixed within 12 hours! Overall it was a pleasant place to stay.
