Here are the cliff notes on our 30 day booking:
-Told 2 min before check-in they needed 2 hours to clean. They offered refund for the first night due to the troubles, never refunded.
-5 Towels in the entire house when we checked in. We asked about it and bath towels were dropped off. Had to buy our own pool towels.
-No toilet paper (except what was on the rolls)
-No hand soap, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, cleaning supplies
-A vacuum and broom were dropped off when we asked.
-Food crumbs, dried up fruit, dried up cheerios, toys, glass shard under the couches – all that was discovered as we were following ants.
If we hadn’t had a 30 day stay, we would have absolutely left and went to a hotel. It left a stain on our family vacation. We have tried to resolve our issues privately with the property owner where he told us it’s our fault we didn’t tell him sooner and he did us a favor not charging for the spa being heated. He never told us about a charge when the spa was finally fixed – just asked what hours. He said he has ant repellant (that wouldn’t have fixed the problem anyway) and the dog poop was likely from a dog that got away (there is a gated fenced door – how would a dog stray into the backyard?) He hasn’t responded to our rebuttal from 4 days ago. And the lack of support from VRBO has been frustrating.
