"After a long day of travel I went to the rental property. It was on a private road which was not plowed and it was difficult to find the house in the dark. The driveway nor the entrance of the house was cleared so I was standing in snow in tennis shoes trying to get the lock box open to obtain the keys. Upon entering the property it appeared the property had not been used recently. There were cob webs and there were things on the floor that were left from previous renters. Along with cheese stick wrapper on the back of the couch. There was mold behind the toilet and in the shower. The shower was not pictured and was small. Beds were uncomfortable. The view is great just not sure this should be available in middle of a Michigan winter. There was an ice storm and the property lost power and I needed to stay at another location for running water and heat. In the book left by host it stated having access to cable tv and there were supposed to be directions on the coffee table and not directions were found. "
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cadillac by IHG
6/10 Okay
"We had a multi-night stay in Cadillac.
Hotel rooms are dated; but they’re currently working on a remodel. The pool room is definitely in need of a renovation- the hand rail on the right side of entering the pool isn’t even attached to the cement anymore.
Our shower was not only unclean, but after cleaning it we found out it didn’t drain so they said they would move us to another room with a working shower. We had a lot of stuff and had to move it ourselves and we didn’t get an upgrade or discount or anything for our troubles with that situation. We moved 2 doors down and within a few hours new people were moved into the room - without them fixing the shower.
There were so many kids without supervision (lots of running up and down hallways and yelling) that we couldn’t sleep well and the kids were so unruly in the pool room we couldn’t enjoy that either.
The breakfast is hot, but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to taste.
However, the staff is wonderful. Ameara was very welcoming and accommodating and offered to take pictures of our group and was just a lovely individual who is doing her best. She made our stay as good as it could be. "
"This secret hideaway is perfect! Remote and relaxing. Games, jukebox and pinball machine were tons of fun and were perfect for a night without tv or phones. John, the host, was fantastic. Would highly recommend "
"The hawks nest is a very warm, cute cabin. The hot tub and wood burning stove were both huge hits for us, as it was very cold the 4 nights we were up there. Also has lots of extra blankets to keep you warm. We spent our evenings curled up watching Netflix (provided.) The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals (has some spices, tin foil and drawers full of every gadget you will need.) Shelby and her husband were very easy to work with and very quickly responded to any questions we had, they even sent someone over to plow the driveway for us after receiving 4-6” of snow! The bed was very comfortable! Thanks so much for allowing us to spend some time there. We enjoyed our stay very much!!!"
"My wife and I had an amazing weekend stay at the A Frame. The cabin was cozy, had everything we needed, and was so quiet and relaxing. We played games on the table overlooking the river, made all of our meals at the cabin, and enjoyed the color changing lights as we relaxed and talked. We only left the cabin once and that was to hike the Silver Creek Pathway along the Pine River. We would not have changed a thing and hope to come back someday when it is warmer so we can enjoy the fire pit, deck, and hanging out by the river!"
