We had a great time at this property and enjoyed every minute of it. I also have to say that Deadwood Connections was responsive to every request that we had and even the owner Mark went out of his way to provide a new Wi-Fi router when a storm took out the existing one. Kudos to both for an outstanding customer service experience
We have here before and would stay again.beautiful house and area. Plenty of space and bathrooms. Only negative is that a couple of the mattresses should be updated.
This was an excellent area to reconnect with family. The house was large enough for all our kids. The kids loved the hot tub and pool table. The kitchen space was a little small for our party but we managed.
Super roomy. We had 8 girls out for a bachelorette party and everyone was able to have their own space/room. Thw only thing we really had anything to say about was the towels in the dryer when we got there. Im hapoy we hac clean towels, just odd to have them not put away. Overall great stay though!
For the money one would expect a little higher quality.
Laundry shouldnt be left in the dryer
The mattresses definitely need replaced ( see previous reviews)
After 400 miles on a motorcycle in 95 degree heat i would have expexted that the air conditioning would have at least been turned on!!!!
Nice beautiful location and close to Lead and Deadwood. The ATV trails were close by. The home was nice sized and comfortable furnishings. The only downfall was storage. There was inadequate storage space for food. Non-refrigerated items had to sit on tables or cupboards as no where else to store. The bedrooms did not have dressers to use for clothing and the closets were full with storage items.
House is beautiful! We had a very relaxing stay. I appreciated the email correspondences the weeks leading up to our stay. The gentleman I worked with to set up payments was kind. We contacted the property manager to locate a few things while on our stay and the property manager was respectful and had someone out the same day to check into our concerns. One thing that was odd, was the towels were in the dryer when we arrived, so we had to fold laundry in our first day of vacation. We did appreciate having a washer and dryer at the house so we could keep up on our own laundry.
Nice cabin near ski slopes, restaurants and shopping
This cabin was perfect for our mother-son ski weekend! We had plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook meals and eat together. Beds and pillows were comfy. Our teenage boys enjoyed having their space in the basement rec room playing pool, watching ball games, and having quick access to the hot tub just outside. The house was very clean with the exception of minor things like wood trim and light fixtures needing a good dusting. It was nice to have shovels there in case it snowed, and to have off-street parking (needed AWD or 4WD though).
Terry Peak ski slopes were just a10 min. drive away (however, know that when we went mid-March the lift ticket/equipment/lesson lines were very long... get there 45-60 min. before they open (or plan to spend 2+ hours getting all tickets/skis). Someone else told us that if you go after 4:00 pm the day before, you can buy tickets/equipment/lessons for the next day and be ready to go the next morning. Plan to take your equipment with you for multi-day trips. We had delicious food and drinks in Lead, and there was a great burger joint along the main highway about halfway into town. We frequented a few local shops that had tons of home decor, boutique-style clothing, cool gift items, and candles galore. We really enjoyed our visit to the the Lead area and this cabin!!

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
I really wanted to love this house! So many great features, the location, the size, almost Zero Entry. Works well for family and just relaxing. Immediately upon walking in you can tell it is not been cleaned or taken care of. This house needs a lot of TLC, and cleaning. A lot of old candles, decor just not taking care of. A lot of stuff built up around the outside and not maintained, stairs going up the back deck are pretty weak. Couldn't even get out to play horseshoes with the over grown weeds and thistle. The kitchen is so disorganized and we found multiple dishes that still had food on them. I brought several items like a griddle, paper towels and crock pot because its not listed on the information but they do have them on site.Alot of the kitchen had food on items and side of the wall. Just not clean. We had several issues with the fridge but cooling and had to put everything in the freezer overnight just to keep it cool. The next day the management team brought us coolers and ice till the repair man was able to come the following day. It worked but we were so frustrated agree spending all day driving, shopping and unpacking to not have a cool space to put food. Couch and kitchen were great. The AC also stopped working. We noticed it wasn't cooling and just assumed the heat it couldn't keep up. Monday was in the upper 70s and cooler outside than inside, house was at 79 inside after being gone all day.Living and dining room are perfect for families!
Property was nice, we had 8 adults and were comfortable with the space. Hot tub was nice, with a beautiful view. We stayed to ride UTV trails and it was ok, trail heads near by and easy to follow. It was a bit further from Custer park than we hoped but beautiful trails near by that we really enjoyed! Would recommend to friends.
So let me start by saying this was a trip to ride the ATV trails. 5 couples with 3 trucks and trailers carrying 5 ATV's.
So I will start with the location. AMAZING!! From this house we rode over 600 miles in our weeks stay. Really you can get most anywhere you want to go. Very close to Lead, Deadwood, Spearfish, we even had a day we did, Hill city, Keystone, the Custer wild life loop, needles hiway and lake Sylvan, all on ATV's ridden right from the house.
The house also has easy access to gas, groceries and restaurants. Within walking distance is Recreational Springs which offers food, Ice, drinks as well as gas. But beware the walk back is all up hill. Groceries are 3 miles away which is handy when you have a big group and only 1 refrigerator.
Which brings me to the house. It sits on top of a big hill/mountain (it feels like a mountain if you make the earlier mention walk up). We were able to get our 3 trucks and trailers in no problem but that's about all I think you could do.
Its pretty tight. The house has 2 decks, 1 uncovered, where you can catch some rays and also sit around a fire table, and the second, a long covered deck where we spent most evenings watching some amazing storms come in. The view is spectacular from here. The bedrooms were ok size and I felt the beds and bedding were all pretty good. The kitchen is small but usable. We brought a griddle and did most cooking outside as we had good weather.
There is a hot tub that is looking a little weathered but is was crystal clear, clean and hot!!
The house I would say is VRBO clean. They are never perfect as there is a fast turn around, but I would say it was one the the cleaner ones I've stayed at. It needs a thorough dusting as the log beams were pretty bad and the main floor bathroom floor could have used some elbow grease.
The only other issue we had was the Internet. It is not secure and it is very slow. I think this is something they should not skimp on as people nowadays, even on vacation, need to spend sometime on work.
Over all a great vacation and a great place to stay, would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We loved our stay at this property. Very nice property snuggled into the beautiful Black Hills with short drive access to pretty much anything you want to see or do in the area. Perfect getaway!
House was in a great location and very spacious. Only problem was garbage cans were full when we arrived so there was no room for garbage and the hot tub hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Otherwise it was a great stay
The house was located in an excellent spot to access the snowmobile trails, home was clean, warm and inviting upon arrival. There is a fantastic view of the Hills, and conveniently located close to Lead for supplies.
