Escape to the Leadville lifestyle & breathe the freshest air there is and drink from the source of mountain waters. Go outside and get some exercise, try Ski Cooper or Copper Mountain for some snow activities or stay in and read a book, and enjoy the view!



Need a larger space? You can also book the East Wing (Gem Palace) to accommodate your group!



The Space:

The Forest Fortress is in the west wing of a beautiful Victorian mansion.

This listing has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a massive living room., comfortable kitchen with walk out access to the courtyard.

Bedroom 1 - king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a steam bath (Leadville's finest bathroom!)

Bedroom 2 - queen-size bed.

Bathroom 2 - has a bathtub



You have your own privacy indoors and a shared courtyard (including hot tub) with the group renting out the East Wing. If there are guests using the East wing, then the hot tub will be shared!



We do utilize a weblink outside the platform that directs guests to our guidebook. You will receive an email with this link. This is the ONLY way guests can access check-in information, and facilitates the collection of fees and other special requests/upgraded services we offer.

To protect your stay, you'll choose one of two options during online check-in: a $150 refundable security deposit (a temporary card hold, released after checkout) or a small damage waiver ($5/night, max $40).



Guest Access:

You have access to anything in the house! Help yourself to anything in the kitchens! Make yourself at home!



The Neighborhood:

The location of Cloud City Castle is one of the main reasons we chose to manage it - it's amazing! You're only 2 blocks from Harrison Street, Leadville's Main Street, but the neighborhood itself is quiet, peaceful and safe. The house has a shared courtyard (with the East Wing) with a hot tub and plenty of indoor space!



Getting Around:

Located just 2 blocks from Main street means that most places in town can be reached by foot.



There is free street parking right in front of the house, but you can catch a bus in town to Copper Mountain and to the Frisco Transit Center.

This property does not have air conditioning.



If it snows more than several inches, look for snow removal signs to make sure you don't violate any temporary parking rules.



Staying in the mountains offers a unique and nature-immersed experience, characterized by a rustic charm. You might occasionally encounter some of the local wildlife, insects, and small critters that are part of the natural surroundings. We recommend keeping doors securely closed whenever possible. Rest assured, we've implemented thorough measures to ensure your stay remains undisturbed by these natural inhabitants.



Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We cannot offer refunds for guests experiencing altitude sickness. If you anticipate being affected, we recommend obtaining insurance at the time of booking.
