The Neighborhood:
You're one block off Harrison Ave (Main Street) in historic Leadville — North America's highest incorporated city at 10,152 ft. A former silver-mining town with a Main Street full of restaurants, breweries, coffee, and local shops — all on foot.
Walkable from the front porch:
» 1 min ➔ Harrison Ave / Main Street
» 2 min ➔ Tennessee Pass Cafe & Wild Oscar's
» 3 min ➔ Two Mile Brewing Company
» 5 min ➔ City on a Hill (coffee + food) & the Tabor Opera House
A short drive:
» 12 min ➔ Turquoise Lake (swim, kayak, fish)
» 12 min ➔ Ski Cooper (uncrowded, 400+ acres)
» 25 min ➔ Copper Mountain
» 26 min ➔ Mt. Elbert trailhead (Colorado's highest 14er)
» 30–50 min ➔ Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone & Beaver Creek
The Mineral Belt Trail — a 12-mile paved loop around town — is reachable on foot for running, biking, or a morning walk.
Getting Around:
You'll want a car — there's no public transit or reliable rideshare in Leadville.
From Denver (DEN): ~2 hrs via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S over Fremont Pass (11,318 ft). Check cotrip.org in winter; AWD or chains recommended Nov–Apr.
From Eagle/Vail (EGE): ~1 hr with less mountain-pass driving.
Once here, downtown is a 1-block walk — dining and shops on foot. Ski resorts and trailheads are a 12–45 min drive. Free private garage parking on site.
Other Things to Note:
License #002764
No A/C — at 10,152 ft, Leadville rarely needs it. Summer highs run 65–75°F; open the windows for a mountain breeze.
Pets welcome (2 max) — $50 per stay. The fully fenced backyard has a dog door off the bedroom, so your dog can come and go.
Altitude is real at 10,152 ft. Drink extra water, take your first day easy, and consider travel insurance. Symptoms can include headaches and nausea; we can't refund for altitude sickness.
Mountain living: you may encounter local wildlife or insects — part of the experience at altitude. We keep the home well-sealed but recommend keeping doors closed when possible.
Stairs to enter the home. 2 guests maximum. Check-in after 4:00 PM, checkout by 10:00 AM.
Interaction with Guests:
We're a local Leadville team, reachable by message anytime through the Traverse digital guidebook — quick answers on the hot tub, the dog door, trail conditions, or a dinner pick a block away. Otherwise the place is entirely yours.
