Asheville Mountain Log Cabin

In the rural mountains but 15 minute drive to downtown Asheville!

This air-conditioned 2,700 sq ft rustic log cabin sits atop a mountain overlooking the Newfound River Valley and offers the perfect getaway. The wraparound deck provides sunrise and sunset big-sky viewing (and excellent star viewing at night). It's located halfway between Asheville (15 minutes) and Waynesville/Maggie Valley and delivers incredible mountain views from every window.
The cabin has a high speed internet connection from Spectrum with unlimited usage, so you can have a working vacation or you can stream movies (4K UHD Smart TV) & music as much as you'd like!
The main floor includes the master bedroom and an open, fully stocked, kitchen (new gas stove), dining and living area with a stone-stack fireplace, hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer long-range sky, valley and mountain views. Each of the three bedrooms are tastefully furnished with a warm, cozy feel (new carpet). All three bedrooms have queen-sized beds. The loft also has a queen pull-out and includes a flat-screen TV (4K UHD Smart TV) with a large library of movies from which to choose. The kitchen has all the needed amenities. The high speed Wi-Fi will keep you fully connected to the outside world (when you need it).
The cabin is surrounded by 20+ acres of fields and pine trees with four horses that keep the grass cut short in spring, summer and fall. Perfectly located - Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn, Cherokee, hundreds of world-class hiking trails, river rafting, tubing, kayaking, rock climbing and fishing are all a short drive away. You'll be approximately 30 minutes from multiple ski resorts and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Note, there are outside cameras on each of the 4 sides of the house. They are there for outside security and tracking the landscaping work (only active when empty).

Sweet log cabin outside Asheville

Clean and modern layout, classic cabin feel, nice porch for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Very private feel, the only neighbors we noticed were the horses & cows!

Rustic Luxury

My wife and I have lost track how many times we have stayed at this luxury “cabin”. The location makes it easy for our daughter, son-in-law and grandson to visit from West Asheville and we are not far fro mountain hiking. We are planning our next visit.

Great stay

Great stay with our family. Easy access to Asheville as well as trails and waterfalls in various surrounding areas. The cabin was well equipped with games and especially puzzles - I think we completed 8 in 6 days! If I had any constructive feedback it would be that the road down in the valley isn’t super noisy but takes away from the serenity at times . . . and an outdoor fire pit would make the mountain experience complete - and allow for s’mores. Overall great place. We really enjoyed it.

Fantastic Mountain Getaway

This is a terrific home base for a mountain getaway. It is an easy drive to Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and more. As noted in another review, I don't believe the pictures do full justice to this home and its surroundings. This location worked out wonderfully for our planned outings, and we very much enjoyed the view as we sat in the rocking chairs on the deck. In addition, this was, quite simply, the cleanest vrbo in which we have stayed, and we greatly appreciated the owners' attention to detail in creating such a welcoming environment - the beds were very comfortable, and these were the nicest linens (sheets and towels) that we've experienced at any vrbo. The kitchen is also well-appointed, and the layout of the house really facilitates family time. It is a nice setting, with views of sunrise and sunset, and we highly recommend it.

Awesome Cabin

We came down from Cincinnati to visit Biltmore for Christmas and wanted to stay in a cabin that was in the mountains without being completely off the grid. This cabin is just that! The cabin was very tastefully decorated. I especially enjoyed the lighted garland and other holiday touches. The fireplace was nice and relaxing. The beds were comfortable. The cabin has a wrap around porch with beautiful views. Overall just a magical place. We didn't watch TV, but there was one. They also have a nice selection of books and board games. There is also table tennis in the basement. Overall this is a great cabin and I highly recommend it. The owners are very responsive and you can tell they really love their cabin. The cabin is only about 25 minutes to downtown Ashville and only about 10 minutes from shops and resturants.

Trip is tainted because of your accusations of damage.

My stay at your cabin was wonderful. The deck with the beautiful views were a favorite. It was fun watching the cows from the back deck every morning. Our stay was a much needed respite following the death of my husband last year. As we had made plans to visit the Asheville area before he died. But now the trip is tainted because of your accusations of damage. My 14 lb dog did pee on the master carpet twice, small amounts when we first arrived. I'm sure my dog was marking his territory because of all the stains on the carpet already. I immediately cleaned up the carpet were my dog peed and there were not any stains left by this. Following that my dog was never out of our site or he was in his crate. I don't understand why I was charged a pet fee of $75 and now you want me to pay $150 to clean your carpet that was already stained. And as for the chair, that damage was not there when we left. I had my hand bag on the table and my sweatshirt on that chair before we checked out. Again there was no damage on it. I have no evidence/proof such as photos to dispute these additional charges of $75 for the chair and $150 for the carpet. So I have no leg to stand on. I would recommend that others photograph/video the entire cabin on check in and check out so that they are not taken advantage of with additional charges.

Best getaway ever!

My family and I spent our Thanksgiving is this lovely and cozy cabin. It was very clean and spacious. It was the perfect getaway to unplug from everything and just relax. The rooms were great, kitchen and living room were awesome, and we enjoyed our ping pong tournaments in the basement. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a break from everything. Perfect place and not far from lots of things to do, whether it be shopping, hiking, or sight seeing! Definitely will be going back again. We fell in love with this place! The owners have done a wonderful job with the place. Thanks for letting my family spend our holiday there!

Lovely spacious cabin with a view

We had a great stay at Valley View Cabin! Cabin was nice and open. It sits on a nice spot with just a few other farm houses around. We ended up not really doing too much in Asheville but instead went on hikes and drives off of the blue ridge parkway & Pisgah national forest. We did end up having to drive pretty far to get to those places so if you’re looking to do that I would suggest somewhere closer on the other side of Asheville. But if you’re looking to spend time in Asheville it’s a perfect 10-15 min drive to the main parts of town. Patterson’s, Thanks for letting us stay at your lovely cabin!

Incredible mountain cabin

This property is situated beautifully out in the country with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Very easy to enjoy a quiet sunrise with a morning cup of coffee on the front deck or watch the day come to a close with the sun setting behind the mountains. With a short drive to enjoy the Biltmore estate or to the highest peak east of the Mississippi, this is the place to stay to explore the surrounding area.

Lovely Stay at a Homey Cabin

This place was perfect! This cabin had the perfect amount of rooms and amenities - and was a great distance from town. Wonderful stay!

Family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. It had a wonderful view of the mountains - near and far - from the nice wrap-around porch. The cabin was well-appointed, clean, spacious, and had a great layout. We were VERY comfortable and had zero issues. Jim was super timely in all communication and I cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks for sharing your home for our escape to the mountains!

Daughter's Softball Weekend

We had an amazing time at your cabin. It was close to everything but mentally miles away! it was within 30 minutes of Bob Lewis park and had some amazing places to eat in between. It has sunrises that are second to no beach anywhere! Very Clean and very well appointed! Thank you!

Great Cabin

We had a very relaxing time in the cabin. The Mountain Views from the front porch were amazing! The location was perfect! Close to all that Asheville has to offer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Asheville. We can not wait to go back!

Such a beautiful Cabin

We had an amazing time in the cabin. The Views were fantastic from every room. we spent time in the porch just admiring the beautiful mountain views. It was so beautiful!!. The house was very clean and had a very relaxing ambiance. the beds were so comfortable. I slept like a baby every day Mr. Jim responded any questions right away and gave us great suggestions for places to visit. the location was great close to Asheville and so many other beautiful areas My daughter, our yorkie, and I LOVED our stay !! thank you for hosting us ..
