This beautiful cabin is nestled in nature at the shore of Rough River Lake and has proximity to neighbors and the charming town of Leitchfield. The house had incredible a/c, which was my top priority in the last week of July, and I got great sleep in a comfy king bed with soft sheets! The kitchen was more than well-stocked, with some tools I don't have in my own home (Smores skewers, avocado pitter). The backyard offers spacious decking with a fire pit and well-built stairs to make the steep yard and walk to the lakeshore accessible. This house would be comfy for a larger group than ours, too; a big dining table in addition to a breakfast nook, spacious living area, and three great bedrooms. And don't forget the air hockey table in the air-conditioned garage, which we got a lot of use out of! My five-year-old describes the house as FUN!We enjoyed a pontoon rental from Nick's Boat Dock (must-do!), a self-guided tour at Mammoth Cave (a UNESCO site), and stopped by Lost River Cave in Bowling Green on our way out of town. Guided tours at Mammoth Cave book up in advance! In Leitchfield, we enjoyed ice cream at Twin Lakes Creamery and dinner from Hometown Hangout.
