The hotel was perfect. Staff were lovely and the food was excellent. The hotel itself is in a perfect position for skiing, next to the slopes. The room we had (double bed with a pull out sofa bed and balcony) was very clean and comfortable.
The ski room was brilliant. A locker for your skis and boots (no coming down to find someone’s gone off with your equipment).
My only criticism is that the food at the evening buffet didn’t have any allergen labels on it (it’s quite common to find these labels now in hotels where they have a buffet) so those making a choice of food if they were avoiding dairy or gluten for example would have to ask each night.
Will definitely stay here again if we go skiing in the Three Valleys again. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful week
We had five nights here in late March. A good value hotel with direct access to the slopes and lifts. Comfortable room with good sized double bed (two singles together), restaurant serving buffet breakfast and a boot room with individual ski lockers. Would definitely return.
Great hotel. It is basically ski-in and ski-off. Great service and breakfast was fine. Only issue is that public transportation was difficult for me to figure out. I will definitely return.
We went as a family of 3. 2 girls preteen age. The location is absolutely perfect and the staff simply the best. Breakfast was included in our reservation but i must say that cutlery wasnt properly washed and if you were not in the first 1 hour from opening you could hardly find any plates to serve yourself.
Finally i believe its overpriced for what it offers, like every other hotel in the area though.
Unfortunately our stay wasn’t the best. The room we were put in was so noisy. Whatever was above us, all we could hear was something (maybe chairs) scraping along the floor. This went on morning, noon and night. Carpets in room were disgusting. Most staff were really nice and friendly except one woman on reception who was extremely rude. No tongues for croissants at breakfast despite me asking for some so everyone was putting their hands in all over them. The lights in the corridors were automatic but rarely worked, so many times we had to walk from the lift to our room in complete darkness. There was a funny smell all in the room, couldn’t work out what it was but it wasn’t pleasant. Overall all it was OK, but definitely wouldn’t stay again
Advice for those booking: 1. Hotel name does not match the listing here. It is “Balambra Hotel Les Menuries” 2. The “Les Bruyeres” bus stop is right outside so really easy for accessing other parts of Les menuries if you’d like to by bus or if an airport transfer drops you off at the Gare routière.
Review: This hotel was a great place for my first time in Les Menuries. I was nervous going as an American but I was able to do everything I wanted despite not knowing really much French at all. The ski room to keep you gear was easy to use and get ready for the day. Access to the slopes was quick and easy. A handful of great restaurants around the corner and a super market right next door. I would definitely book again.
