Top Shelf! Absolutely Awesome!
Steve is an incredible host! This property surpassed all expectations. The house has everything and more that you would need and is perfectly located between Keeneland and Buffalo Trace. Steve is a fantastic wealth of knowledge about Midway and has great recommendations on anything needed from restaurants to places to visit. Easily the best host and house we have worked with and stayed t! Steve's communication was exceptional throughout the entire process. We cant wait to return.

Comfortable house, quiet location, beautiful country. Location is very convenient to both Lexington and Frankfort. Steve is very friendly, accommodating, helpful. We planned an extra day to explore the area and wished we had longer. We will return for a longer staywhen we get the opportunity.

Quaint cottage in beautiful horse country
Absolutely perfect little cottage in horse country. Close to Keeneland for a perfect weekend trip with the family. Beautiful porch and fire pit in the yard. Would 100% recommend. Steve was incredibly helpful with not only the home but recommendations in the area and keeneland tips.

College move in
Our family stayed here while moving our daughter in to the University of Kentucky. The location of this property is ideal for anyone visiting bourbon distilleries, horse farms, universities, or the charming town of Midway. The property has a warm homey feel (not the cold white sterile looks to many rentals lately). The owners communicates well and was very accommodating to us as we had a late arrival. He made sure we were able to find his property easily. It was clean and the kitchen seems well stocked although we didn’t prepare any meals. I would recommend this property to friends and would stay again.

Between the bourbon distilleries and the golf courses that we chose to play the location was ideal. The property was everything that we needed and Steve was great. He was there for anything if we needed it.

Great place to stay!
My friends and I spent 2 nights in this marvelous cottage. The town is quite unique with delicious places to eat, where you can sit outside, if you want to watch those passing by. We sat around the firepit in the evening-great place to sip bourbon :). Location has easy access to the many bourbon sites and tours. I highly recommend staying here, Stephen was a great host, we hope to return..

Great outdoor space to unwind and catch up
We had a men's family golf outing for a few days and several of us wanted an alternative to the hotel most were staying at. This location was perfect as it was closer to both golf courses. We weren't at the property a ton of time but really enjoyed the evenings after golfing talking on the back porch and around the large fire pit. Steve was attentive and a great guy. Chatted with us a bit but left us alone unless we needed something etc. The bakery director next door was a nice place to get a breakfast sandwich and soak up the remainder of the bourbon from the previous night 😉

What an amazing find!
The listing is very charming with lots of great pictures, but the house was even more charming in person. What you can't see is that it sits in a beautiful small town with several great restaurants within walking distance. Couldn't have had a better experience!

Remember the hotel stay at the intersection? No one does.
Son's wedding in Frankfort, reception in Lexington. This was not only Midway perfect, it was ideal for family time. The cottage is warmly welcoming and very fun. The sitting areas made for GREAT family visit time. It didn't just accommodate a most important weekend (as a hotel would have), it became part of the memories: the comfortable visiting, fixing meals together, driving through Kentucky's legendary horse farms, the charming shops and restaurants of Midway. And a morning bakery within steps. Almost storybook. If I could change anything, I'd add a full size shower upstairs, but that's the nature (and charm) of an older house. And this cottage is all charm. And great memories!

Relaxing Family Vacation
This was our first time vacationing in Kentucky. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and especially the cottage. Mornings were spent eating breakfast together on the porch. The porch provided a secluded and relaxed space to be outside and to enjoy the surrounding beauty. The cottage was well-stocked, comfortable, and spacious. We felt at home and also enjoyed two dinners downtown Midway which was a pleasant short walking distance from the cottage. Our host was very gracious and hospitable. He checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything needed. We highly recommend this cottage and would consider returning if we should decide on Kentucky again.

Midway Masterpiece
We greatly enjoyed our stay in "The cottage". A quiet relaxing retreat in the beautiful town of Midway. Property provides seclusion, nature, and relaxation. Cabin had many areas to relax with our friends and unwind after a busy day on the Bourbon Trail. Convenient to all the hot spots: Louisville, Lexington, Bardstown and Frankfurt. Buffalo Trace is a short drive for the early morning allocation runs. Steve, the host is very accommodating and responsive. We had a fantastic time and will be sure to return!

Exploring Kentucky
Location was perfect for us. Visited the ark, creation museum, escape room, mall, Buffalo trace distillery, Rebecca Ruth's, bourbon boat tour, winery, zip lining, Malibu Jack's. Bonus was the cat that loved to be brushed. We utilized the kitchen for breakfast every day. Kroger was nearby. Walked to Gibsons for supper one day. Enjoyed the lightning bugs each evening while sitting on the porch

Great stay in Midway!
Very comfortable house and Steve is a great host. Our group of friends stayed here as a base camp for the Bourbon Trail. The location was perfect with near-by restaurants and central proximity to many distilleries. Beds are comfortable, shower is fantastic, and kitchen has plenty of room for meals. Living room and sitting room allow for plenty of space to spread out and relax. Back deck also adds a nice place to sit. Would absolutely stay here again.

Birthday - bourbon getaway
We stayed here for a weekend birthday/bourbon trip and I couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The house was tidy and clean and Steve was a wonderful host. It is conveniently located to a number of distilleries and the main street just a few blocks away has several restaurants to pick from. If we could change anything it would be the upstairs shower which doesn’t accommodate a 6’3” male very well, but the downstairs shower more than made up for it. The outdoor space was a wonderful place to relax after our busy days bourbon tasting. If you have the chance to book this place, go for it!

Perfect in every way
We really enjoyed our stay here. It had everything we could possibly need and more. He even had cold bottles of water in the fridge for us. That’s a first for our Vrbo stays. My daughters stuffed whale had a hole in it and I even found a small sewing kit to fix it for her. She was very happy! We plan to visit the area again and would definitely stay here again.

Just want you to know that it was wrong when your husband tried to hide the dog coming. When we were walking out the door your son said.... dad dad why are you so mad at me as I we were walking , I was in front of both of them. I don’t know what he whispered or jestered to your son But it was just after your son said no dad I got down on the floor and it jumped up on me as he patted his chest to show your husband the dog was improving ( if the truth was told in the beginning I would have aloud the dog)! I seem to only have problems with show horse guests thinking they are above being honest. This is the first four star review I have received in seven years of operating this vacation home and I’m sure it has to do with the issue of the dog and that your son was the only one that was truthful.

Charming cottage with amazing gardens
We were in Lexington at the KY Horse Park for a competition. My family came along and this was an excellent base for them. Pride of ownership in this home and the gardens around it are obvious. The landscaping and gardens around the home are impressive. Midway is a lovely town with charming shops and several good restaurants. We saw the owner daily to check in. I had cancelled a day on the front end of our trip ahead of any deadlines, but I am still waiting on the refund. I spoke to the owner a few times before our stay and went over who was coming, but this was unclear when we arrived. We did have a small dog that had back surgery (cannot walk yet) that had to come along last minute he did not know about. Understandably, he was concerned about scratches on the wood floors, but this dog cannot move well yet and he was gracious to allow her to be there to sleep at night. Overall beautiful home and idyllic town!

Fantastic Stay!!
We loved our time here with extended family! My parents took the downstairs bedroom, my hubby and I took the room with bathroom upstairs and our son was across the hall. So much room to spread out! We walked to the bakery each morning. We also walked to downtown Midway a couple times. Great food and shops downtown! The house was so clean and beautiful! Beds were very comfortable. Sheets and towels were top quality! Steve was so nice and such a gracious host!! You will NOT regret staying at this house!!

Bourbon Get Away
Where do I start. This was a perfect get away. From the first conversation with Steve we knew we booked a fabulous place, and we were not disappointed. The Cottage had everything. It was inviting, cozy, and very comfortable on the inside. The back porch is the perfect place for coffee in the morning, and bourbon in the evening. Fabulous house, and perfect host.

Great place to land!
Myself and mom, along with 3 kids, enjoyed this property for several days as we drove through Kentucky on our way to a family reunion in TN. We enjoyed the small town within walking distance, and the house itself was generously outfitted with everything we needed. Quiet street. Responsive owner answered all our questions. Very pleasant. Only complaint was that we couldn't find an iced coffee in town!

Fantastic home!
We couldn’t have asked for anything more than what we received in this home. The home is beautifully furnished. The kitchen and baths have more than enough supplies, the back porch was our favorite place! Bourbon Trail, horse venues, Lexington and Louisville…..all at your fingertips get tips! Host is incredibly friendly. What more can I say….this will be our go to spot whenever in the area again! Loved it!

Revised mom’s weekend
My son’s college mom’s weekend was cancelled last year due to Covid. Definitely made up for it this past weekend. Beautiful, well stocked, clean cottage in a very charming little city. The weather was terrible but our stay was fabulous!! Would definitely stay there again!!

A very quaint house with lots of character and charm. The layout worked well for a friends reunion, as the bedrooms had multiple beds. Great location, great host and very comfortable accommodations. A short walk to old town Midway shops and restaurants, 45 minutes to the Ark Encounter and about an hour to Churchill Downs. The home was very clean with two nice living areas. Mike was very helpful!

Steve was an amazing owner/host. The house was immaculate, the beds were comfy, the shower was amazing, and the kitchen had everything we could have possibly needed. A Real Charmer
We were all charmed by this lovely cottage and the town of Midway as soon as we arrived. The place is cozy, comfy, and lovingly cared for, down to the cut flowers arranged throughout the house. Steve was a welcoming host, and even dropped off some coffee for our first morning in town. We followed his advice for local restaurants and had some wonderful meals during our stay. Thank you for sharing your cottage and for the great memories!

Pictures don't do this property justice--a beautiful, clean and inviting home in the perfect setting. No detail was left out, from fresh flowers throughout the house to wifi/satellite TV to fully outfitted bath/kitchen amenities. The back porch is perfect for enjoying your bourbon purchases! Steve was the consummate host, with attentive communication from reservation to checkout. He provided great recommendations on area restaurants and tours. Within walking distance of the quaint town of Midway, with great places to eat and shop. Don't miss Midway Bakery just around the corner. We will return--thanks Steve!

Horse Country Perfection
This property and host Steve deserve way more than 5 stars!! An absolutely charming cottage in an absolutely charming town in the middle of the rolling hills of horse country. The house is super comfy with plenty of reading nooks and a marvelous back porch. There is a bakery with to die for cinnamon rolls next door. The walk into town is leisurely and scenic; Midway is just the right size to have tons of small town charm with plenty of great restaurants. So peaceful you can’t believe the highway is less than 15 min away, but that gives you easy access to Lexington and Louisville. Steve was an incomparable host: gracious, welcoming and fun to talk to. We lacked for nothing! Already planning a return trip.
