A wonderful value for 1 or 2 people
For less than $100 per night, should I choose a stately Victorian apartment on Main Street in a historic downtown, or a rundown chain motel at some stop along I-75? The choice was a no-brainer for my scouting trip to plan a short getaway for my quilting group, most of whom would enjoy being in the middle of horse country. The property was recently remodeled and is in pristine condition. The building has 4 units, but it was always quiet. It has beautiful house plants everywhere, so I figured the owner must live nearby so he can tend them. I met him doing just that. He lives next door. One possible negative is that the building is located on a busy state route that leads to Lexington and many smaller towns. Most historic towns have the same problem, so it didn’t bother me. The town is still home-y and very walkable. Plus, the building is well-insulated, and the traffic dies down at night.

Property was very nice and my overall stay was fantastic. The parking was a little challenging with a full size truck, but was able to make it work. Definitely would recommend!

A perfect one bedroom spacious place to stay when your coming to town for a visit, horses, or sports at EKU. Clean and has everything you need to make your stay easy and convenient. The host is helpful and responds to your questions within minutes. Will stay here again!

Beautiful apartment feel near EKU
We had a unit along with my brother and sister in law for a visit with our niece who Is studying at EKU. We also took in a bit of the bourbon trail. Your property did not disappoint! Lovely wood floors, modern brightly lit bathroom, inviting gas fireplace. Lots of closet space. The live plants throughout were a great added touch; the whole property was clean and inviting. Enjoyed the perk of a wine cooler and coffee bar. Spacious living area A great place to stay with friends/family for privacy yet ease in hanging out together. Appreciated the large mounted tvs in both living room and bedroom. Couple of minor suggestions that would move this space toward total perfection in my book- Would have appreciated digital antennas on the TVs to watch local channels, and a small set of standing shelves between the sink and door wall would be great for hairdryer and toiletries when in use (the bathroom closet was perfect for storage). Hope we have the opportunity to stay again and would highly recommend to others! Thanks for being a big part of a great weekend!

Comfortable
Very nice atmosphere, comfortable furnishings. Only issue was that the balcony door was locked, which had been advertised as an option for smokers (which we are) and it was raining and cold, so there was nowhere to go. Other than that, it was well worth it! Would stay again--with balcony:)

Very nice and comfortable. Accessible. The lighting throughout is 15 watt bulbs, which made reading in the living room difficult, and kitchen lighting inadequate. Had to use light from my phone to use the keurig.l

Jaunt to KY
My husband and I were coming down to KY from IL to explore the area and connect with an old friend in Lexington. We zip lined with Boon Creek Outdoors, toured Keeneland racetrack, and went on the Crystal Kayak Underground tour in Red River Gorge. Richmond was the perfect, centrally located spot for us to stay, plus it has a Buc-ees!! Andrew was very responsive to all of our needs and provided a relaxing atmosphere for us during our downtime at the property. There is a beautiful plant room in the basement and a lovely patio area to relax or read a book. Love all the live plants throughout the space, and it felt just like home with all we could need provided. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we would love to come back in the future!

Andrew was very good with his communication, however i was stuck for 24 hours in DFW airport with delayed and canceled flights. I never made it out of the airport, when i communicated this with Andrew he then informed me that he didnt receive my message in time to refund me for the 2 days. He did however refund me the cleaning fee of 35.00 since there was never anyone there to begin with. I guess that is good enough. Thanks. Have a great day

Perfect place for EKU parents or Alumni. Close to campus, always clean and stocked with plenty of supplies for that long weekend. This is our 3rd stay and we’ll be back 2 more times before semester’s end. Enjoy ourselves each time.

Amazing Host
I can’t review the property but I can review the integrity of the host. A system glitch caused a double booking, and while that was disappointing, Andrew, the host, worked hard to find other accommodations for us. He booked us at a more expensive property and absorbed the extra cost. I’m very satisfied with the way Andrew handled the situation and would not hesitate to stay at one of his properties in the future.

We enjoyed our stay here so much! The property is beautiful. Apartment was clean. You can hear traffic from the front and sometimes the other people in the building but I expected all of that coming in. Would definitely stay again. My only complaints (that aren’t bad enough to rate any lower than 5 star) are: WiFi connection wasn’t great when trying to watch tv, and the lack of somewhere to put trash. The only trash cans were two little bathroom sized ones with no replacement bags. Also would love a check out list of things to do before leaving! Overall a great stay and exactly what I expected and needed! Highly recommend.

Very nice apartment
The apartment was exactly as pictured - VERY clean, and nicely decorated - and convenient to restaurants and shopping. Directions and Googlemap to the property was right on point! We did have one little "issue" - the exterior door lock code was changed on our 2nd day there, and we were not notified. We got back to the apartment at 10:30P, found ourselves locked out of the building, and had to call Mr. Jones.

I messaged the owner on Feb 26, 2022 regarding a question. Never got a response. Message owner day of to get access code for door, did not get a response back. Had to stay in a hotel in Lexington. Would not recommend this property!

We are saddened by this unfortunate experience. The first message that was sent to us was sent through a personal text by someone other than Caleb. VRBO informed us to not respond anyone outside of the VRBO platform. We will accept full responsibility for the lack of information provided due to a mix up on the night of arrival. We did give a 100% refund to Caleb and offered an additional complimentary one night stay for the future. We hopefully will have him back someday as a guest.

Large, beautifully decorated apartment
We actually stayed in the West apartment, which is lovely and very well equipped. The owner included things that many property owners don't, such as a throw blanket in the living, green plants, flowers on the dining room table, a clock and lights on both sides of the bed in the bedroom for couples who both like to read in bed, toiletries in the bath, and keyless entry so you don't have to meet someone at a specific time to get in. The kitchen was equipped with nice dishes, glasses, and silverware. The location was great for walking to many places in Richmond. There can be traffic noise on Main Street, but the bedroom is in the back of the apartment so it did not bother us. I was sorry we didn't stay longer! My only suggestion would be higher wattage bulbs in the bedside lamps for older eyes.

The apartment was immaculately clean and had a five-star Resort feel.
We needed somewhere to stay for one night because we were in town for a one-day golf tournament. The place was perfectly clean, parking was easy and convenient, the bed was very comfortable, and overall we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Five stars all the way.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The were a couple of small mechanical issues with the property but Andrew was a gem in keeping on top of the resolution. This was one of the nicest VRBOs that I've ever stayed in, if not the nicest.

Upon checking in, we noticed inefficient AC and only a couple towels for us for 6 days. Guess we were expected to wash. Then the tv was only app service! We don’t subscribe to tv apps! It At this price cable tv should have been provided. Would have been nice for this to be outlined in the detail description of the property! We turned right around and loaded the car and stayed in a hotel. A lot of money down the drain! Not at all what previous experience had been with VRBO. RENTER BEWARE

We are sorry to hear that Trisha's experience was not as she had hoped. However, there are certain things that do not add up as Trisha stated. First Trisha upon checking in did inquire about the tv networks that were available we informed her it was all done though apps and every thing was ready for her use. We did not hear anything else until six days later on her scheduled departure date. We received an email on that morning letting us know that there would be very little cleaning that needed to be done since they had not stayed at all due to not being able to understand the tv and inefficient air conditioning . Upon receiving the email I Immediately went to check the apartment, the ac stated it was 64 degrees and found the roll of paper towels had been completely used as if someone had cleaned the apartment themselves . We wish that Trisha had reached out with us in regards to the troubles they had however they did not. Because of Trisha's stated inconstancies we strongly recommend VRBO HOST BEWARE OF TRISHA V

Beautiful historic building!
Great location! Beautiful building and furnishings. Very clean. Wished there had been an iron and hair dryer in closet. Unfortunately for my stay the property wasn’t ready for me to check in until 2 hours after checkin time. Messed up entire evening. But overall I enjoyed staying in the property.
