"We had often joked about the Huggy Bear Motel on trips to and from Indianapolis in the past. Shockingly, we actually stayed there recently when we moved our son into a local university...and it was great. It's a simple roadside motel that is in remarkably good shape. We stayed two nights and had no problems whatsoever. The AC kept us cool on hot nights; the beds, though a bit soft for my taste, were comfortable. If you're looking for a safe, clean place to stay and don't mind an old-school motor lodge with just the basics, you can't do much better for the price."

"You definitely get what you pay for. Rooms smelled funky, bathrooms were minimally stocked. Standing water in the bathtub when we arrived. Lights in the lobby were flickering. Internet was slow and intermittent. Cable on the small TV kept cutting out. Beds were uncomfortable….. Other than that, it was fine"

"This is a beautiful rental was comfortable seating and excellent views out into the pasture. The mature trees as you drive in beside the barn or thick and offer great shading.There are marked parking spaces on a pea gravel parking lot for 3 to 4 cars. It’s a circle drive so if you had a longer vehicle or aren’t the best at backing up, there’s an ample room to do so. It’s on a dead end so there’s no traffic to deal with. outdoor seating with a fire pit allows for rest and relaxation.The inside was nice and cool especially since we had I hate index of 105!!!!!! well stocked kitchen. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who had adventures going on at Salmon Lake or needed a secluded place to stay outside Wabash or Huntington. Meticulous grounds and inside!!"
