"This place was so nice and comfortable, felt like home away from home. Beautiful scenery and so clean and furnished very well. Many board games for the whole family.Hit tub was great. The lake water is a little shallow for fishing from the shore so you definitely want some kind of boat if you are wanting to do some serious fishing. We waded out into the water waist deep and caught about 6 fish but only 2 keepers . Great host that answers right away and will fix any kind of problems right away. This was by far the best place we've ever visited!"
"Beautiful property in authentic home. Amazing breakfast prepared by proprietor David. A little hard to locate initially but convenient to all city attractions in beautiful neighborhood. I was in the "Roses" room. Be aware that A/C unit is just behind this 1st floor room...so it can be a bit noisy. I would op for a 2nd floor room on my next trip."
"Overall, our family of 6 enjoyed our stay, although we had a hard time understanding how this property could comfortably sleep 10 people. 8, yes, but not 10.Great things:The cabin was clean and orderly when we arrived. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the bathrooms have soap, shampoo, and conditioner included. The screened-in back porch is a great place to relax at night, although there was not enough seating for us. We enjoyed the firepit, too, although it also lacked adequate seating for the 6 of us. The beds are decently comfortable, and that was great.Issues:One of the side bedrooms had a flickering lightbulb which did not work consistently, which was annoying. My husband was able to switch out the lightbulb and get it to work, but that is NOT a responsibility a client should have to take on. The other side bedroom had no ceiling fan at all, and got hot. None of the lights with fans attached had separate switches from their fans, which is an easy fix, and would increase convenience for the clients. Lastly, the shower water in the main bathroom smelled strongly of sulphur the entire time. A filter could solve that issue.Mainly, adequate seating, fans, lighting, and better-smelling water would have improved the stay, although it was overall nice, despite these inconveniences."
"The breakfast was absolutley delicious and beautifully prepared! We had bloody Mary's and Mimos too...all included in our stay.
We stayed in the red and white gingham cottage which we loved because it stood seperate on it's own. The window unit AC kept the room very comfortable.
It had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker.
The cottage was small but very comfortable, except for Bathroom standup shower was a little too small for my 6'6 husband...but all good. We couldn't have had a better location to walk to downtown for dinner, cocktails and shopping. Great hosts!

10/10 Excellent
"What a great experience! I brought my son to meet family that lives in Hughes Springs. We used the kayaks, the paddle boat, and swam a ton. We brought a trailer with 4-wheelers and dirt bikes so that we could ride on family land. When I left, the pin that held my trailer hitch to the truck broke and the host helped me fix my trailer. What a relief! I would have been stuck for a while if it weren't for him. My trailer was literally in the middle of the street and it would have blocked the entire road for at least an hour. The host acted like it was just another Tuesday. Blessed to have such great hosts. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to have a relaxing weekend."
