This apartment truly was a great spot for us. We traveled as an adult couple and two teenagers. The location of the property was truly a wonderful spot. Easy walk (though hilly) to the castle, lots of eateries and shops nearby. Literally down the block from the bottom of a funicular as well (the new one and it's short). We had an 18 year old that we took to Pink Street, which was a 20-25 minute walk. Not bad at all. The closest subway stop was 10 minutes walk down the hill maybe. There was also a fabulous view of the city from the living room, and with open windows you can expect to hear Fado music reverberate through the neighborhood. There is a nice park uphill behind the property. A real sense of community in the park. We did not use the pool so we cannot comment on that.Note: They do not provide soap/shampoo other that one night's worth. And no laundry detergent either. They do provide some dish washing materials. There are several mini-markets around to get supplies. I opted for the 'natural' shop just down the hill. I got used to other properties providing those things. I DO understand that I've been privileged there. As an American, I'll say that the master shower was challenging for keeping water INSIDE the shower. Water seemed to wick right out. We GREATLY enjoyed our stay and want to make sure others are aware of what to expect. p.s. It's a top floor apartment. Elevator is new. We often took stairs.
