The one good thing about this hostel is that it is centrally located in the city. They fail to mention that they have a single toilet and 3 showers for each gender in the hostel. The showers and bathroom were extremely dirty, had various bugs crawling around them, and always smelled disgusting. The hotel manager also fails to mention that they turn the air conditioning on at night and prohibit you from opening the window, leaving you in a hot room with 7 other people. Avoid this place.

The hostel is well located, the lady at the front desk was very nice and clearly doing the best she could. But that is about it. The place looks and smells old and dirty. The bathroom in my floor had no lock and the shower didn't work, which means I had to go up a flight of stairs every time I needed something. As I opened my locker I found a dirty pair of socks. The beds had no privacy shade and the bedroom had no curtain so unless you are fine sleeping with the sun on your face, bring a pair of blindfolds. I also had travel issues and when I called the hotel to give them a heads up I apparently reached the owner who was very unhelpful and rude.

Place needs some love put into it - building in a state of disrepair, rooms and bathrooms felt dirty. Baggage room left open & unlocked - not enough keys for the front door. Lady at the counter was absolutely lovely though and doing the best she could

You Don’t Want To Stay Here! It’s dirty, old, run down, no water in the shower. It is owned and run by an 82 year old man who should be retired.

Dear AdrieneMany thanks to stay with us as well as, your terrible comments, which as you well know are not true.You stayed in our best Private Ensuite with a Double Bed, T.V, , A.C.., Minibar, Electronic Safe and a Private Bathroom total equipped with bath amenities, a shower cabine that works with two balls to control hot and cold water, which you did not used properlyAnyway, you only stayed 1 nigth instead of 3 nights and left without, giving us the opportunity to fullfill your expectations. Bathroom were discusting, moldy, tile loose on tbe floor, sink not cleaned, bed full of hair, sand and left iver food, floor not cleaned, windows does not closed properly. Nothing in the kitchen works, no oven, dishwasher or range. This place needs a full makeover

The Golden Tram is in a fabulous location and the highlight is the on-site lift. However, the building, bedrooms, bathrooms etc are in serious need of renovation. I have stayed in far worse but it just feels neglected. The location is central which is a plus, but the negative is it's noisy 24/7

Location was great, the property is in the middle of downtown. Staff was just ok not super friendly/helpful nor terrible. Breakfast is ok as well. Hostel facilities (showers, toilets) need a serious upgrade, all is very old in terrible shape, badly maintained, not enough light and ventilation. Room was just OK, the bed was ok, could use a curtain for privacy and little shelf to put personal staff (watch, phone charger, etc,).

This places was amazing staff is super help full and its close to everything u can just go walking around and get lost in this gorgeous city. Plus it was a dope bar with good and not so expensive beer and cocktails.

Perfect center hotel
Hote is absolutely center of lisboa. I stayed with my wife in a privat bathroom which is oky but very confirtable beds. Breakfast is not worth it but hotel it self is in a perfect spot so i am not complaining at all. I would stay here again.

Nothing at all like the picture.
Dirty, smelly, and loud. Dirty walls, broken drawers, bedrooms were the worst I’ve seen except maybe a public toilet at a beer festival at midnight. No curtains on the beds like in the pictures. Tiny lockers. Good location. WiFi ok. Breakfast ok. Just felt like false advertising.

Good location hostel.
The location is very convenient which very near to many attractions. The hostel bit old but was still acceptable. I booked for bunk bed in 10 mix dorm the room is clean and the toilet is big too.

Feels like Room for Asian and caucassian separate
I am indonesian (Asian) staying in this hostel was dissapointed. I stay only 2 nights. When I checked in, the frontdesk said I have to move to different room on the second night. I asked them why i have to move, its only 1 more night. Frontdesk just respond "can not, you have to move". What kind of explanation is that? But i didnt have bad thinking that time. So First night they put me in room with other western. Then the next morning I change room. I just realised that people in my second room that the frontdesk put me, all are asians. It makes me wonder, did the hostel SEPARATING ASIAN with CAUCASSIAN? I am not recommend the hostel. Hostel should be the place for you to find worldwide people. Dont let front desk create the faith with who you are meet or staying with you in the same room.

Great combination between price and comfort
Accessible hotel with a good location and easy access by metro. There are several tourist spots nearby. The breakfast is very good, the wifi signal is stable and overall the stay is pleasant.

Golden Tram 242 was a pretty nice hostel. We had a private room with private bath. Room was very tiny, but clean & comfortable for what we needed. Location was central & great. Staff were friendly so all in all a good stay.

Plenty of storage space under the bed. I had a lot of luggage so that made things easier. Very convenient location. Staff were very helpful but if you really want to know something walk down to the square and go to the information booth. As far as cheap hostels go it great

I requested an airport transfer. They advised me of an incorrect meeting point & told me to pay the driver which he advised was all wrong. He waited for an hour before I found him, as he was leaving. I booked into an all female dorm as I had never stayed in hostels before, I wanted to feel safe. They checked me into a mixed dorm, did not tell me, then after sleeping in a room with 7 drunk men randomly coming home through the night, one of which admitted he was in the wrong room, told me I could not get the room I had booked (and already paid for) as they were full & I had been put into a mixed dorm as my name is jaimee which they said is a boys name. (I booked in November 2016 for March 2017, no one bothered to email me to check that I had booked the right room: in my opinion, if I book an all female dorm, & pay for it; would I not be within my rights to actually sleep in one?) the first night was terrible, there does not seem to be any rules in this hostel. People who were not meant to be in the dorm, slept in there. Girls crying in the hallway, music up loud at 3am, men yelling at each other in the room, one quieter man being woken up & told he was in the wrong bed, having to move, only to find out the next day that the man who told him to move was in the wrong room. How did he even get in? Then when advising I was checking out a day early, I was still made to pay for that night. I requested that it be refunded & was told that "I'll check with the manager" terrible.

loved the beds! comfiest beds i've had in a hostel. feels like your own little room with each bed havin a light and plug. got lucky and had an 8bed dorm all to myself for 2 nights out of 6 :)

very central!
I just stayed at the Golden Tram for one night and for that short period of time it's absolutely okay. There's a lift which helped me a lot with may baggage. I slept in a 10-bed-dorm and in the night it was very hot since the air-condition was turned off (but I don't know if it's always like this). Anyways the bed was very comfortable.

I felt like the images were not representative of the actual hostel. The floors and bathrooms were very dirty. The beds were very uncomfortable and there was NO air conditioning in the room. I requested it being turned on, but maybe it was broken. Regardless, the location was perfect. It's right near the center and perfectly located for anything downtown. The woman working in the kitchen and the cleaning girl were very friendly.
