The hotel facilities are very good. We stayed in March so we couldn't take advantage of the many swimming pools, however the views from our rooms made this stay very enjoyable. It's close proximity to Sintra palaces make it an ideal place to stay.

Delighted to return for the second time, our experience surpassed expectations once again. The kids' club activities proved to be a highlight for our children, providing them with entertaining and engaging experiences. We, too, appreciated the opportunity to unwind and indulge in some relaxation. Without a doubt, this hotel has solidified its place as our favorite. Looking forward to future visits!

The location is amazing, as are the inclusive facilities. It is very family friendly as well. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and the food both plentiful and exceptional. The all-you-can eat buffet in the evening is €30 each though. Constructive criticisms: there was an unpleasant sewage smell in the mornings. There is no public transport, so you will need to pay for a taxi. That costs €10 each way, so worth baring in mind.

Great stay and experience
Stayed here while on a family vacation. The property is beautiful with a stunning location and views. The rooms are spacious and clean, though one of our bathrooms had a peculiar smell that lasted throughout our stay. They have a great schedule of amenities and entertainment for the children. However I wish the areas had also been available for free play throughout the day, not just when the staff is there. Overall a great stay!

Vila Gale Sintra was an ok experiencThe room had an incredible view. However, it rained, and the balcony flooded through the cracks in the door-clearly not well sealed/made. At other hotels I stayed in during my had complimentary waters, a small token of appreciation for the stay, and other accouterments. The walls are extremely thin-I could hear screaming children running down the hall and people on the other side of my wall at night. The pool was serene-but only when I was able to go. The concept of making 'reservations' is honestly ridiculous. There were 25 people consistently throughout one of the days I was there yet they would say its 'full' and I had to I wait til the next time slot to go to the pool. For 'upscale' hotel, I think this reservations policy needs to be rethought. Guests should not have to plan out when they want to go to the pool. The food was just okay. I ate from the menu both nights for dinner as the other buffet food looked less than exciting. The breakfast buffet was decent and provided a lot of options for anyone-understandable for the concept this hotel is going for-with it being family friendly. This hotel was 10-15 minutes from town. It is out in the country. Vey nice and peaceful. But I do think there should be some sort of shuttle offered by the hotel considering the price. Even a few time The concept Vila Gale hotel company is trying to build was partially evident in this Sintra property. There is work to be done. Kindly, AD

This hotel is outdated. Compared to the other hotels I stayed at in Portugal - I don’t know how this is considered a five star. There was a stench of body odor in the lobby when we walked in. The bed was nice, however the rug had stains, the shower water wouldn’t go down and there was mildew in the shower. Our room was by the dining area so at 8am my room smelled like food. The staff was very very nice though and the bed was clean.

Our experience as a person of colour
The hotel is beautiful and kept clean. The breakfast buffet is good too. The only sad experience is that people of colour are not truly welcomed there. We are a black couple and definitely felt ignored and alienated. Staff were more attentive to caucasians.

The kids club was great, and the staff that run it deserve medals for their enthusiasm and energy levels. However, some of the other staff weren’t so friendly, and the food at the buffet restaurant was not good.

This hotel is really a resort with indoor and outdoor (too cool) pools and a fitness center; helpful staff, and a lovely location, though a little far from Sintra centro. It was a short easy drive to Praia Hrande with good restaurants and views. The only problem was slow checkout, only 1 clerk on duty. A manager walked by and I asked him to add someone, which he did immediately. However, he should have noticed and acted without my intervention. You could enjoy yourself on the property and never leave. Breakfast buffet ample and varied. Dinner a la cartel entries are skimpy, though after O commented to our waiter, he offered us the buffet desserts complimentary. Also, they have you a coupon for free bottle of wine if you spend 40E at dinner (easy for a couple to do). Everyone in our party of 6 was very pleased with the hotel.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Pool and restaurant were great. Lovely views. My only recommendation would be to vary the food a little more. It became a bit monotonous after a few days.
