1/5 Terrible

Beautiful Place / Horrible Property Manager
Its unfortunate that this place has the absolute worst property manager I have ever met. She was the most rude and crazy person I have ever dealt with that works in customer service. As a law enforcement officer, i find it hard to be shocked by people anymore, however the way she treated and spoke to my wife and I boggled my mind. Its very sad that such a beautiful, well maintained place is ran by such a terrible person. I tried writting a detailed rant on our experience however ran out of characters and was only half way done, so I will summarize. Note that I have never been one to complain about services or write reviews. This is a first for me but i thought it necessary. *did not answer messages on vrbo prior to arrival. Had to contact vrbo customer service to get a hold of property manager to confirm booking and get check-in information *literally screamed at us for pulling into parking lot 2 hours prior to check in when we were only trying to see where the place was before heading into town for lunch *verbally attacked my wife's hairdresser on our wedding day for coming to the cabin and scared her to the point of her being afraid to do my wifes hair and to the point that the hair dresser called the makeup artist and warned her to be careful when she arrived. *screamed and yelled at me for having two people (hairdresser and makeup) come to the cottage without her permission for our wedding. *tried to kick us out a day early (check out was next day) on our wedding day citing VRBO overbooked her and owed her 4,000 Euro. *tried to make me get my credit card to pay her what she claimed VRBO owed her. *once she realized she had her dates wrong. She would not apologize and continued to blame vrbo for her mistake. *I had to use my experience / communication skills as a law enforcement officer to calm her down add to get her to stop screaming and slamming doors. The property manager did try to make up for her actions by leaving some champaign, chocolate and two roses in the cottage upon our return from our wedding ceremony. However, after the multiple negative interactions (and her trying to ruin my wife's most important day) it seemed far too little too late. The hairdresser and makeup artist (who were locals) were so appalled by the property managers behavior that they apologized on her behalf multiple times. I think they were embarrased at how she was portraying Ireland. Dont rent here for a wedding!

The cottage was double booked
After reserving and paying in full for a five night stay 6 weeks before our arrival from out of country, the cottage was also booked and occupied by someone else when we were ready to check-in. A massive disappointment to say the least and created a very unpleasant problem to solve on our own on a Saturday evening during a holiday. If you are going to book, I recommend getting clear confirmation from the property owner, do not rely soley on the VRBO booking.

Adventure by the Sea
The cottage was so lovely. The views, the location and our amazing host. We felt so welcome and cared for. Watching crashing waves and sunshine on the sea. It was fun to head back each day snd think of it as home

A Darling Rustic Cottage
This little house is charming and a real authentic Irish cottage complete with peat burning stove, flagstone floor and white washed stone walls. The location in the stunning Burren right on the ocean could not have been better. With a full kitchen including washer and dryer, there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. Sheila, the host, was wonderful and so helpful.

Cozy home for the night of a turbulent hurricane
Sheila’s cabin was a delight. She made sure we were all safe and secure as warnings of a hurricane during our stay were hovering. The place was cozy, comfortable, with the historic fishing cabin ambiance. We had everything we needed and more. Wish we could have stayed for several days. It would have been so nice to come home to each day.
