The king bed was comfortable and the coffee, tea, wine, shampoo, etc. were all great. The room smelled like a wood burning stove that had not been cleaned (we didn't use it) and the automatic light outside the French doors shone through the white curtains, which made it hard to sleep. The wooden flooring was very creaky.

I thought I was getting one of the remodeled rooms but that was not the case. The room was hot - you have to open the window and put fan in it, which felt unsafe. Property was quaint - loved seeing the deer on the property!

Sweet getaway

Sweet place to stay. We brought our dog and they left her a nice bed and food and water bowls. We were very content. We came during one of the only hot days of the year in Mendocino, so obviously no a/c, but they were kind enough to lend us a fan.

The room was fine and comfortable and the grounds pleasant. However the carpet was visibly stained all over the place--some spots were so dirty and concerning, we walked on tippy toes to avoid touching it with our feet. Also there was some sort of white liquid (of a cream consistency) on the doorstep rug when we checked in. It was never cleaned the entire duration of the stay.

I appreciated being able to bring my pup here and it was easy to get everywhere. It had become hot and missed being able to open any of the windows and a real coffee mug would have been best to add that extra touch!

charming seaside stopover place

Nice quiet, clean place to overnight. Room had lovely antiques in it, nice bottle of wine as well. It's a refurbished older building so there was the expected moans and groans from plumbing and electrical. VERY nice place to stay with nice staff. Will definitely stay here next time I'm up.

The staff were very hospitable and communicated well before our stay. The location and provided parking were very convenient as well. However, when we checked in, we saw our room had a very noticeable ant problem (i.e. they were crawling along the floor trim and up the doorjamb). Since it was quite late when we got in, I didn't bother the staff but if we'd been staying for longer than a night it would've been an issue.

Such a sweet stay. The Garden View Room was lovely. Understated rustic chic. Although vintage, nothing felt old. We loved the small bottle of wine and the log ready in the fireplace. We actually lit the fire and it didn’t overheat the room but gave us a soothing vibe. Plus great coffee and a big fridge provided. We would DEFINITELY stay again. Wish we had more time to spend around the garden. I’m not sure why anyone would rate this below a 9. We give it a 10! It was our favorite room on our 900 mile, 5 night road trip.
