"Property is very dated and has a musty smell throughout. Older building. Courtyard is nice as is outdoor pool and sitting area. Carpets in halls were dirty. Hotel not typical Marriott quality. Shuttle is excellent and ran every 1/2 hour."

"Property is in a quiet, interesting area and is nice and clean. However the day to day experience was frustrating. When we received our room the tolietries were already depleted and this was never corrected despite two visits from housekeeping. Shampoo was not provided despite being specifically asked for, bare minimum for toliet paper was provided, packaging for these tolietries were were left around the room and the ice bucket was left with old water with strange particles growing in it so we did not use it. Also the first two nights of our stay the room did not have hot water. Overall we didn't spend much time in the room during our trip but it did introduce some annoying challenges when we just wanted to clean up and relax."

"It would have been ok except 2 things: 1.Right outside the entrance to our room, the housekeepers repeatedly left their cleaning carts, and there were huge piles of hotel trash there, repeatedly. 2.breakfast had canned fruit salad in April, in California . Go to any store and buy some fresh fruit and cut it up! And should provide dairy and plant -based milk for coffee, not Coffee-Mate!"

"The Westdrift Manhattan Beach, Autograph Collection was okay overall, but definitely not worth the price. I paid about $370 for one night, and one of the biggest issues was the water being completely shut off from 11pm to 6am. This meant no ability to shower, use the sinks, or even properly use the bathroom during that time. After getting back late from a concert, that was extremely inconvenient and honestly unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Situations like that should come with some kind of discount or accommodation. I do want to give credit where it’s due — January at the front desk was excellent. She was welcoming, helpful, and honestly the highlight of the stay. The room itself was nice and the view was solid, but the restaurant experience the next morning was disappointing. The lobby restaurant only has around 7–8 tables, and we were told we couldn’t sit outside due to a lack of chairs, which seemed odd. Service was slow — we even saw another guest waiting over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged. We kept it simple and ordered: • 2 eggs • 1 side of potatoes • 2 coffees Total came out to $42, with a 20% tip already included — and then we were prompted to tip more. For that amount of food, that pricing felt excessive. Overall, not a terrible stay, but definitely overpriced for the experience. Given the water issue and overall service, I would expect better or some form of compensation. Next time I’d likely stay at Marina del Rey Hotel instead."
