"There was clearly some sort of kid party happening at the pool. There were at least 100 kids in the tiny pool, easily over max capacity. The water was murky and it was so loud that if you wanted to say something to the person next to you, you’d have to yell for them to be able to hear you. I’m not overly sensitive to noise but I’m pretty sure the few moments I spent in the pool area caused hearing loss. I’ve been to rock concerts that were quieter. And the hotel staff just let it happen.
I had to ask to have the room cleaned again once we got checked in because it was dusty
The front desk staff seemed very unprofessional, maybe I just caught her on a bad day but I smiled, was kind and pleasant and she was extremely rude. And I was just checking in! I wasn’t complaining or asking for anything.
Then the parking situation, well that was a joke. They have about 50 spots in their garage which of course were full so we had to park in a neighboring garage and pay their prices and walk all the way over.
Walnut Creek is a nice area, there is no reason for this hotel to be so trashy. And it’s literally trashy! When we checked in there were people (guests?) eating out front and the next day when we checked out their food and drink containers were still sitting in the ground and in the bushes. No one bothered to throw them away. It was flat out gross. "
"I admittedly booked this hotel because of the rate, but boy was I surprised! Great ambiance, friendly staff, cool restaurant and bar in the lobby, and the room was large, the bed super comfy...absolutely no complaints! I will stay there again in a heartbeat! "
"This motel is on par with Motel 6. The front desk clerk made it appear as it I was interrupting him when I checked in. The cover on the pep hole on the door would not close completely and made me feel creepy. I could hardly sleep with one noise after another (motorcycle, ice machine, sirens, coughing through paper thin walls). You name it, I heard likely it. The shower didn’t work properly with most of the water running into the tub and a small amount spraying me. The towels were small and very thin. The floor was sticky but not sure with what since I did not bring any food into the room. I would not stay here again and definitely would not recommend it. "
"I had a great stay at the Marina Inn. It was a quick 4 min. walk to the bus stop, and I was able to make it to San Francisco daily. My room was clean, and the staff members were friendly. They come through and replaced towels and wash cloths daily. A member of the cleaning crew recommended Horatio’s, a restaurant that is about a 3 minute walk away. The food was great and I like how nearby it was. "
"Carpet was wet secure parking gates were broke bistro was out of everything no liquor license had to wait at check in system was down. Felt sorry for staff at this hotel Marriott should be closing the property until it is brought back to standard. Will not being returning here"
"I wanted to raise a couple of concerns regarding my stay, as the experience fell significantly below what I would expect from a four-star hotel.
First, the $19 parking fee is difficult to justify given the complete lack of enforcement. After paying, I was not asked for a license plate number, and there appears to be no monitoring in place. This raises a fundamental question as to what the fee is actually for. In practice, it creates an unfair situation where guests who comply are charged, while others could easily park without consequence. Additionally, the hotel is located in an industrial area with abundant parking, which further makes this charge feel unreasonable. When I asked staff, the only explanation provided was that “it is Silicon Valley,” which is not a meaningful justification.
Second, I was very surprised that there were no food or coffee options available after 11 a.m., even on a Saturday. I was unable to get even a basic hot latte, as staff stated they had already “filed the report.” For a hotel of this category, the complete lack of basic daytime service is unacceptable.
Overall, these issues made the experience feel far below four-star expectations. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, and I would appreciate if you could address these concerns accordingly."
