WINTER, AT THE GATES OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SKI AREAS

From Allemond, a stone's throw from the house, the Eau d'Olle Express gondola drops you off in just 8 minutes at the resort of Oz 3300, with direct access to the Espace Alpe d'Huez and its 250 km of connected slopes (Alpe d'Huez is also accessible in 42 minutes by car). Les 2 Alpes, Chamrousse and Auris-en-Oisans complete the offer less than 45 minutes away, enough to vary the areas throughout your stay. Right next door, the authentic village of Vaujany, linked to the same ski area, hides a surprising Sports and Leisure Centre: heated swimming pool with a view of the Grandes Rousses, wellness area (sauna, hammam, jacuzzi), ice rink and 4-lane bowling alley - perfect for après-ski or bad weather days, with the family.

SUMMER, LIFE-SIZE PLAYGROUND

Livet-et-Gavet is just as generous in the summer. A few minutes' walk away, the Himalayan footbridge of Roberts spans the Romanche at 10 metres above its tumultuous waters: an easy and spectacular walk, with a view of the Belledonne and Grandes Rousses massifs, a stone's throw from a famous bouldering site in Rioupéroux. The village is itself attached to the sensitive natural area of Poursollet, at an altitude of 1,649 m, the starting point for beautiful hikes to the high-altitude lakes.

Thrill seekers, head to the Romanche for a rafting or canoe descent in its glacial waters, or the via ferrata of the Fare waterfall in Vaujany: two routes, one of which is accessible to beginners, which run along a spectacular waterfall in the spray (Oisans has a total of 7 via ferrata courses for all levels). Families will enjoy a visit to the Ferme des Bisons de l'Oisans, just half an hour's drive away, to discover American bison, merino sheep and llamas with a view of the Grandes Rousses. Cyclists will not miss the mythical ascent of the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez (14 km made legendary by the Tour de France), to be climbed on foot, by bike, or simply admired by car.

AN IDEAL BASE, WHATEVER THE LENGTH OF THE STAY

For a weekend, enjoy the Himalayan footbridge, the Saturday morning market in Bourg-d'Oisans - the unmissable meeting place for local producers - and a raclette evening in the living room. Over a week, alternative skiing and well-being in Vaujany, via ferrata, rafting and a visit to the bison farm, without ever missing out on quiet time in the outdoor courtyard. For a longer stay, broaden your discovery of Oisans and its region: the Château de Vizille, less than 30 minutes away, seduces with its 100-hectare park, its only museum in the world dedicated to the French Revolution and its reserve where deer and hinds live in semi-freedom; Grenoble, capital of the Alps, is also easy to visit for a day of shopping, museums or simply a change of scenery. Enough to occupy several weeks without ever going in circles, WiFi included for those who want to put down their suitcases while keeping one foot in the work.
