"The food was delicious, the room large and nice, friendly staff. We made a boat trip on the Shire river, with just the 2 of us, as the other people who booked it , cancelled. It was a lovely stay."

"It was alright for the price. The staff were very friendly and tried to make my stay enjoyable. My only complaint was that the mosquito net had a large hole in it. Other repairs may be expensive, but a new net doesn't cost that much. "

" Dated would be kind. A better word is dilapidated or very run down. Next to a busy noisy market. Stained bedding seemed to be unwashed. No hot water. Uncomfortable bed. Awoke with many bedbug bites. At least the air con worked."

Check out Liwonde National Park and Liwonde National Park—just a couple of the sights around Liwonde Rhino Sanctuary.

While visiting the park, ask your guide (or drive yourself if you're doing it independently) to head to Livingstone's Baobab. At the northern end of the navigable section of the park, this is the very tree Dr. Livingstone camped under during his exploration of the African continent. The tree is so old it has hollowed out, so you can step inside and look up at the sky through the trunk!
