We used The Waun Wyllt for an overnight stay when visiting family nearby for a birthday celebration. We were very pleased with the room initially which was Room 5 within the pub itself. However on closer inspection we were left disheartened by the quality of the mattress on the bed which was extremely poor and very uncomfortable. We awoke after a very restless nights sleep still tired which was a shame as everything else about the pub and the room was exceptional. Our breakfast was delicious and the staff were attentive and polite throughout. We recommended to the manager that the mattress should be replaced asap, we would love to return again, and hopefully have a more comfortable nights sleep.

Great overnight stay at the Waun Wyllt. Room clean and comfortable, staff helpful and friendly in nice quiet little pub, great choice of food on menu and meals always cooked to perfection. Great breakfast too. What’s not to like about this place ?? Already looking forward to my next business trip to Llanelli so can stay again

A lovely little find

After searching for a hotel that wasn't your average hotel, I came across the Waunwyllt and what a little gem it was. We arrived Saturday morning to be greeted by a lovely lady who introduced herself and showed us to our room. The room was light and spacious, however, I was slightly disappointed due to the photo of the room which was displayed on the booking had exposed stone walls and wood, which was one of the main reasons for me booking that specific room. However, our room was modern with no exposed stone walls :( . The en suite bathroom was finished to a high standard with a shower that was a little complicated to use. We explored the coastal paths which were at the end of the road and paid a visit to Kidwelly Castle, which was a short drive in the car. Having returned to the hotel, we ate in the restaurant for the evening and the food was amazing. However, was slightly disappointed when we were told that they did not have everything on the menu due to running out of produce. However, the quality on the food and the way in which it was presented most definitely made up for the initial disappointment. After food we sat in the bar which had a warm and rustic feel to it with lots of wood and stone walls and candles. Signal is poor but he WiFi was excellent. Overall, extremely happy with our little getaway and would most definitely return in the future.

Nice hotel in quiet area

Nice pub come hotel with a warm welcome. The room was in a separate bungalow that has been split in to 4 individual rooms. Plenty of parking and excellent bar/restaurant area that has been modernised to a high standard. Good value for money and great food.

Well decorated and great value food.

This is a reallly nice pub with rooms. I stayed in a room within the pub itself so there was some low level nosie from beneath. Everything is nicely done and the food in the restaurant is very nice and great value. Check in time is at 4pm but when I arrived the pub was locked, fortunately I managed to get a phone signal and the door was quickly unlocked. The room within the pub is accessed through staff corridors. A chair at the desk/dressing table would be a welcome addition. No breakfast menu either to look at to make a choice although the breakfast was very nice.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff that could not do enough for you. Great freshly cooked food. Had a risotto one evening and it was the tastiest that I have ever had, wonderful. Good warm room, good shower room and everything worked.

This place is very much out in the countryside (be aware that my iPhone sat nav didn't bring me to exactly the correct place) a lovely location. I was pleasently surprised with how nice the place was, the room was well designed (not loads of space, but plenty for if a couple were to share the room). I ate there both evening meal and breakfast - both were very good. Wifi worked well, the facilities were good and all in all a very nice place to stay.
