About this property

Loft house with incredible views of the fjord

  • By the choice of natural materials, a unique feeling of spaciousness has been created .
    With a lot of wood (oak, walnut, beech and maple), fine furniture (leather sofas, carpets) and attention to detail a romantic holiday was created with a lot of luxury for two people.
    The house is heated with natural hot water. The panoramic windows of 380x180 cm allows impressive views of the fjord and on the game of the weather. In winter you can watch Northern Lights, without leaving the house.

    The walnut double bed is in a visually separate area. Two additional sleeping facilities consist on a sofa bed. The bathroom in black slate and white large tiles has a large shower. The kitchen has all the comforts such as oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc.
    Two tables provide ample space for dining and access to the Internet.

Amazingly gorgeous property, location, and view! This is, hands down, the best VRBO experience that we have had, and we use VRBO frequently. The owners were highly accommodating to needed changes to our trip schedule. The view is serene and awe-inspiring, the house beautifully appointed, travel is easy to Akureyri, and there are precious touches like the enclosed, mineral water fed hot tub. If there were 6 stars to give, this property well deserves it!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful loft. Location and surroundings are absolutely amazing. If I had to come up with a critique it’s that the kitchen is lacking some of the bare necessities for cooking, I mean pepper, oil, sugar. Would be nice to have a small supply.

This location was everything we wanted. The view is beautiful. We were able to access the city and be separate. The property had parking and lights that could be turned off and on a timer (which was cool) and we even ended up finding that there were sheep on the property! Thanks for letting us stay!

Northern Iceland...The BEST stay!

We stayed from the US (PA) last week and absolutely LOVED this place. Mid February in Iceland is a bit "sketchy" with regard to travel; however, this place is amazing. You will have incomparable views of a fjord while enjoying the warmth of this house. The "hot pot" which we know as a hot tub is super cool. It was awesome to sit in the hot tub while the snow blew into the room through the open window.."you have to experience it". If your plans are for the North...STAY HERE!

Beautiful Views and Spacious Place

The property is very nice with excellent views of the fjord. It’s all little out of the way of town still a beautiful drive. The second bed is a pull out, but our friends said it was comfortable. We enjoyed coffee staring out the windows at the beautiful views and ships passing by. Has a dishwasher and nice bathroom. Big plus! The only downside was the hot tub, we didn’t get to enjoy it since it leaked so much it wouldn’t hold enough water and the seat bench’s were in rough shape. So I wouldn’t count on the hot tub if your booking.

The location and property were exceptional, as well as the ease of coming in, parking, and view. I would suggest not having motion lighting in the entryway as it was activated whenever someone needed to use the water closet, which disrupted the guests sleeping in the living room. The door had to be lifted up to lock, which took a bit of strength. There were only a sparce number of dinnerware, some were slightly damaged. Aside from these few things, the stay at Loft House was wonderful and we would highly recommend.

AMAZING PLACE!!!!!!!

LOVED our time here!! Were here for 4 nights and took day trips. One of the things we were hoping to see was the northern lights. We got the BEST show right here. The first night, we drove our car a short distance to a pullout the direction of the city. They weren't as strong. The last night Mother Nature gave us the BEST send off with the most stunning show that went across the fjord. This unit is actually a part of a complex called Nollur. The units all overlook the Eyjafjörður which is the longest fjord in Iceland. You can also see Hrísey Island. You are about 20 minutes from Akureyri and about 30 minutes from Godafoss. It is about 1 hour to Myvatn, which was AMAZING. You are right down the road from Laufas, a turf house museum. Along the road to Akureyri, you can stop and sit in Foss ( natural geo thermal pool). There is a toll tunnel but you can bypass this by taking route 84. It is very scenic and paved. The first time we ventured out, we took route 83 which is mostly unpaved and went by the Laufas turf homes. It ran somewhat parallel to the 84 along a beautiful river. You can see the river on both route 83 and 84. Both routes eventually connect to the 1. We enjoyed using the round, wooden hot tub. Bring your coffee beans as there is a wonderful coffee maker that both grinds the beans and makes your coffee. There is a second coffee maker for ground coffee. Composter and recycling here too. AMAZING, AMAZING place!!
