Property Truths Although a favorite of most guests, this property might not be a fit for demanding travelers. It's professionally cleaned, laundry is washed at 140°, we have the top cable available in the area, and our heating system is under 10yrs old and regularly serviced. However, it's also a historic house in a rural setting with rooms the caliber of the “popular” historic Equinox Hotel in Manchester. The furnishings are primarily antique and antiques are old. The floors creek and the windows can be hard to open. The kitchen dining area can feel cramped for groups greater than 14. The cable and Wi-Fi as mentioned, are the best in the area, but the best in this area is not as good as where you come from. If what I'm telling you sounds charming, and most guests do find it charming, then I'm sure you will love this house.
Location A rare combination of creature comfort, solitude, and lavish dining and drinking. This is going to be easy, you deserve this. Set in the Green Mountain National Forest with amazing star gazing, mineral water straight from the faucet into your coffee tea or bath and no stoplights, but with WIFI, paved roads, cell-service, a grocer, a liquor store, and incredible shopping skiing and dining. Ski four top mountains - Bromley, (3 miles), Magic (6 miles), Stratton (13 miles), or Okemo (18 miles). Shop 40 Manchester retailers just 12 miles away. Eat at four Michelin quality restaurants and find 12 more family-friendly eats within 6 miles. If you prefer to relax onsite you can enjoy a outdoor hot-tub on the meadow, a walk in the forest, a drink and a book in a spa-bath or in front of a fireplace, or hit your private tavern for drinks and bocce-ball, giant-Jenga, or croquet. This place will really put your stress triggers on pause. Six thousand square feet of interior space and thousands of acres to get lost in:)
History The Blue Door Farm was formerly known as the Nordic Inn. It is listed in the Vermont Nordic Ski Hall of Fame, and fondly remembered by locals and initiated travelers as the place to go to do anything from falling in love and getting engaged, to celebrating/reuniting with old friends and family. Now as the Blue Door Farm, it is updated remodeled and 100% private. The Blue Door Farm has hosted a wide variety of groups including - Reiki water-healing and other wellness retreats, the Burton Snowboard family, a Bollywood star, the twin baby stars of the Diane Keaton movie Baby Boom (filmed nearby), a former NYC Chief of Police, a Para-Olympic gold medalist, and even a reunion for an 80s band with a multi-platinum album.

We had three families including 12 in total come together for a 5 day New Year's trip to Vermont. The house was so much fun and in a great location between Stratton and Bromley. Super cool having the little pub in the basement. Great trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect for the group, providing multiple common areas as well as enough space for privacy. The surrounding grounds are beautiful during leaf season. I would definitely recommend!
This place was built for a family gathering! Everyone had a private bath and a suite. No waiting for a shower here. The tavern was fun and allowed the group to come together. The outdoor fire pit was a hit too. We will be back.
Blue Door Farm is a great house, we loved the little pub in the basement. Everything you need to let your family enjoy quaint, quiet, quality time together. Don't miss Taylor Farms if you have little ones or Mike and Tammy's fried chicken any time or the donuts on Sunday, maple are the best.
I couldn’t be happier with our stay at Blue Door Farm and Cottage! They truly want you to just relax and enjoy your time with loved ones. The house has everything you need it’s comfortable, cozy, with tons of activities from outdoor activities(trails behind the house, rock wall, fire pit and a place to play a good family football game and we can’t forget the hot tub) to indoor (pool table, ping pong, chess, Jenga.) My family made tons of memories this weekend and can’t wait to stay again!

Beautiful Home
We enjoyed a snowy, holiday family reunion at this beautiful home. Plenty of room for our group of 20 to spread out inside. Outside the firepit gave us many hours to sit and enjoy being warmed by the fire. We had a few issues arise with the home but the owners were VERY responsive and it posed no problem for our holiday enjoyment. We will definitely come back!
I booked this property for a group of 18 adults, for my 30th birthday, and it did not disappoint!
This was a group of people some who knew each other and some whom didn’t, and it was amazing for everyone to be able to have their own space. The kitchen was well suited for large groups and the basement was an amazing spot of activities.
There were some many good areas for my guests to relax that it never once felt overcrowded.
The property management was extremely response and the checkout process was so easy.
Would love to book here again in the future if the need arises!
This was an amazing property. The beauty of it made for a truly wonderful weekend experience!
The initial booking was smooth and effortless. Communication with the host was stellar from start to finish! When we arrived two of the caretakers were on site to greet us. They thanked us for choosing to stay, offered to help with getting settled, and gave us vital advice on preventing bobcats and bears from being attracted. hey even left some farm fresh eggs for us!
Our first stop on our setup tour (we arrived a day before the remaining guests) was the cottage. It was absolutely beautiful and my opinion, the online description does not do it justice.
The main house was a dream. The layout was enchanting, with great flow and perfect light and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were stunning and comfortable. The would be any home cooks ideal place to create amazing meals. Our favorite places were the sunroom and the tavern. This was an absolutely perfect vacation. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. This is definitely a property that far outshines its advertisements.
This was one of our favorite trips! The house accommodated our whole family and was such a beautiful and unique property. We are looking forward to staying here again.
We had a blast and the house was perfect for our stay! We had 3 families and got in some great skiing at Bromley just minutes down the road. We especially liked the bar downstairs and spent most of our time in that room Or beautiful sun porch!
I cannot say enough about this house, the owner Dan and the caretakers of this property! They all go out of the way to make your vacation enjoyable and relaxing. Thank you for a great vacation!

Great
Thanks so much for your responsiveness. We loved the house and the property. The kitchen is fabulous! We hope to return!!
The house was the perfect size for a girls weekend. We loved the sunroom and enjoyed relaxing in the backyard. If you want to disconnect, it is a great spot. If you are looking to go out, it is a bit far from that.
Awesome getaway with family and friends. Something for everyone from ages 4-70. Enjoyed the bar and game room, hot tub, sun room and trails behind the house. Some skied at Stratton. Others never left the property. Bedrooms were great and lots of space to spread out. 👍👍
Our group of nine women fit more than comfortably into this large comfortable home. The setting is absolutely picturesque. The rooms are large, and the bedrooms have attached bathrooms, making everybody most comfortable with their accommodations. The kitchen is large and accommodated our group perfectly. It is very well appointed having everything we needed to dine in. We enjoyed the large fire pit nightly and the hot tub regularly. Great location just outside of Manchester.
This place had plenty of space for a large group—the en-suite bathrooms for all the bedrooms was great. We also really enjoyed hanging out as a group in the sunroom and at the fire pit and the kids enjoyed the basement tavern area. The home feels secluded because it is surrounded by wooded areas but the grocery store is 5 mins away so it’s still convenient. However, during our stay, there were some cleanliness issues and every bedroom and bathroom were filled with drain flies on the first night. We were only staying a couple of nights so we made do. There wasn’t a long list of things to do at checkout, which was appreciated.
Pros:
a bunch of relatively equal bedrooms
pretty well equipped kitchen
very good value rate rental
super close to bromley
Cons:
everything was a little run down, particularly the cottage bedrooms and the tavern room, which was still fun but a little dingy. Nothing crazy but some signs of moisture here and there, maybe a knob falls off the stove, just a little banged up.
still an incredible price considering how many people it holds.

Blue Door Farm is a one of a kind rental. It is a beautiful property with lots of space outdoors and indoors. We had a family reunion week with 15 people from three generations. There was plenty of room. The bedrooms are comfortable, each with its own bathroom. There are plenty of common area spaces to accommodate everyone. Being there in the summer (early August) we spent a great deal of time outdoors on the lawn, by the fire pit, in the hot tub and pool, and eating our meals at the extended picnic table on the patio. The chef's kitchen was well utilized during our week. Dan is a wonderful host. We highly recommend this property for large groups.
This house is perfect for a large group! We stayed at Blue Door Farm for our Annual Family Ski Trip. We were a group of 16, ages 1-76, and this house had something for everyone. Our 20-year-olds loved the bar area. The house had a couple of nice sitting rooms and a good sized kitchen making it easy for us all to be together BUT also providing separate spaces. The house had every kitchen utensil, pot, pan, we needed plus amazing stoves and appliances. We ate just about every meal there, and the well-equipped Kitchen made it very easy to prepare meals for a group our size. The yard was huge, and the house has a large firepit and hot tub area. It was wonderful that we could bring our dog, who especially enjoyed the outside space. Dan is a great host and was very fast with their responses to our questions. I highly recommend this rental and the comments were unanimous from my family were that they would love to go back to this house next year.
This property is a great choice. First of all, the check in process was extremely easy and quick, which was amazing since it was a bit late when we arrived and had no energy to deal with check in issues, so this was a super plus. Also, the host was so helpful and quick to answer my husband a couple questions we had and it made everything run even smoothly. Now going into the actual house, it was just absolutely the best! Each room has a bathroom with a good size if not huge clean bathtubs, and super comfortable mattresses and sheets, the kitchen had everything we needed, we had a super delicious meal and it was an amazing time spent with my family… the basement had a pool table, fire place where we made s’mores 🤤 bar, tv, and a half bath, comfy couches and chairs in spacious room which was awesome for our kids to play in while we also had fun… also, about kids, we found it very thoughtful of Dan to leave highchairs and playpacks for babies, our little girl thanks him :)
The hot tub also gave us a good time outside while it was a lil chilly 🔥😆 well, we had a stay better than we could’ve thought, and we’re so thankful for every detail that made our time spent there just unforgettable! Hope to comeback soon:)
Perfect fall vacation! We were a group of three couples, all with young children. This home made for a comfortable and convenient spot for all! We loved the back yard and fire pit most of all! Wonderful location
