"We stayed for one night in a room with an ocean view. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spotless and in excellent condition. It was on the smaller side, which was fine for an overnight stay; if staying longer, I would recommend a larger room. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. There is plenty to explore in the immediate area, including the Officers Quarters Museum and the Dog Line. A little further down the road is Do Town. Within a half‑hour drive you’ll find so many interesting places, including the scenic route up to Boomer Bay and then Marion Bay. And don’t forget to stop for oysters at Blue Lagoon Oysters."

"Good size room and shower room. although the room was "showing it's age" it was very clean and the shower was good. Equipment includes microwave and toaster as well as kettle. Additional crockery/cutlery available on request from restaurant. I had an excellent meal in the restaurant and breakfast was available if required. The bar also serves traditional food. All staff were pleasant and efficient Parking outside of my room was adequate and secure The location adjacent to the Port Arthur historic site is unbelievable, my room actually overlooked the site, there is a private gate into the grounds (you need to buy an entrance ticket on line) To sum up, the buildings are quite old but kept extremely clean and tidy and any small failings are more than made up for by the location."

"I really loved the laundry mat in the building. After travelling for 12 days before coming to Hobart it was wonderful to be able to do my laundry. The lounge was also nice where you could a drink and snack without going into the restaurant. The only thing I did not like was the street noise on Saturday night. I liked this hotel much better than the Hilton in Sydney. Friendly staff makes a great difference. I would stay here again."

"We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. Unit is up a long narrow set of stairs. Door opens directly from the car park. There is a view in the distance but you need to look over the car park and over flow carpark plus some houses. The view of a he church tower and farm hills. The bar is directly below so great for dinner options. The unit has sloping roof so beware it’s tight getting around the bed. Unit had toaster and kettle no microwave. Plenty of cutlery plates and cups. It’s set for 4 but this would be very tight. Lounge is a snug 2 so the rest are on dining chairs. As a one night stay got option if you’re not dragging a large suitcase up the stairs."
