"Very cozy.Beautiful view .I wish she had a digital thermastat - very hard to read the numbers and adjust the temperature. The back door facing the lake would lock when we went out several times. The lock was loose and would move enough to lock it. Just minor things we noticed. Loved our stay in every way."

Rustic Cabin Steps From The Water On Star Lake
8/10 Good
"My family had a decent stay at Bear Cottage. We were definitely surprised by the lack of wifi, which the property manager confirmed would be removed from the listing to avoid future confusion. I definitely would not have booked this place at this price had I known there would be no wifi. We also saw a TV in the listing that was not there, just an old radio in its place that barely got reception. We have a 6 year old, so 7 days without any sort of outside contact or stimulation was a bit difficult. We managed by visiting my in laws at their camp site down the road (where oddly, we got great reception). We are big Star Lake fans and always appreciate a chance to get out to the Northwoods. We loved the history and charm behind the cottage, and made some great memories there. Thanks for sharing it with us!"
On the Chain of Lakes w/ Hot Tub, Sauna, AC, Pool Table, Kayaks

"Great Lake front property close to downtown Eagle River. Host was very responsive and helpful. Lots to keep your family busy on and off the water! We would book again!"
Lakefront home with, dock, kayaks, paddle boards, fire pit & more
10/10 Excellent
"Pioneer Paradise 2 was a beautiful, relaxing home away from home. The accomadations appeared quite new and were luxurious -even better than expected. We enjoyed the lake view from the deck, watching hummingbirds, bald eagles, and turkeys. Weed free swimming is a short paddle out toward the island. There are so many places to enjoy the beauty of nature around this rental. Our family enjoyed a tour of waterfalls during our stay. We especially enjoyed Bond Falls where we hiked up and around both sides of the falls. O Kun de Kun falls was fun too- longer hike in- about 1.3 miles, but you can hike in behind the falls. We also went to Lake of the Clouds which was beautiful. We enjoyed a short drive to Eagle River to the antique shops, a fun thrift store Pancakes from Heaven, and the Pine and Pour Coffee House. Our only hiccup was upon arrival. It would have been helpful if we had been given a few more instructions: 1. There is not yet an address marker for the house so it was a bit confusing where to turn in. 2. We had a bit of a struggle figuring out which lock the key in the lockbox was for. We would definitely return to this property!"
