The Thompson is an interesting hotel. Parts of it merit a 4-star rating (the excellent service and rooftop breakfast spot and pool) while others fall more into the 2-3 star range. Not a great neighborhood especially for families and I also encountered some interesting "characters" (use your imagination) in the lobby and by the club next door, and I feel like the lobby could use a facelift. The lobby bar isn't always attended (i waited 5 minutes to order a drink at 6:30PM and no one showed up) and when i ordered a sundae it arrived melted, too small for its price and without a spoon. With this said, I want to commend the Manager, David, who is absolutely fantastic and an expert in customer management. He helped me out of a tough situation and for this reason I will definitely return to the Thompson.

I love staying at the Thompson so much. The lady at the desk got us in early and was super kind and informative. We loved the location and have Decided to become Hyatt regulars.

The staff were kind and extremely helpful, but housekeeping was inconsistent and while the hotel may appear decently kept to the naked eye, cleanliness lacked. The carpets in the hallway look like they need a serious shampoo and so did the rug in the room.

This is a little oasis in an otherwise dirty part of LA. But if you are there to see Hollywood, I absolutely recommend this hotel. The rooftop is beautiful and nice to lounge on and swim and has a view of the Hollywood sign, the food is excellent, and we really enjoyed the weekday happy hour.

Came across this hotel on Expedia when looking for a property in the Hollywood area and decided to book here when we saw how centrally located it is! The property itself is stunning, as soon as you walk into the lobby it smells fresh and is decorated very nicely. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in. I'm pretty sure the gentleman that checked us in on April 25th was David. He was able to accommodate our early check-in, which we really appreciated as we had a super early morning flight and wanted to get settled in before stepping out for the day. David offered us many recommendations of things to do/see in the area. The rooftop pool was so cute and clean. we enjoyed that there were ice water stations located in the lobby and by the pool. We ordered breakfast at the pool and I must say, I was impressed. I wasn't expecting it to be anything crazy but it was easily a 10/10. The room itself was clean and spacious. We also quite liked the scents used in the room, including the shower gel. Overall, I would love to stay here again. As mentioned, it was so close to a lot of spots we were visiting. Many reviews mentioned the hotel being loud at night, which honestly wasn't a problem for us as we were out at that time anyways. I definitely felt younger vibes from the hotel, which is why we enjoyed it a lot as we are all in our mid twenties and came here to have fun.

I recently had an incredible stay at Thompson Hollywood, which is definitely one of the top hotel experiences I’ve had in the US. Not only is it cost-effective, but it also exceeds expectations in every way. The bed was enormous and super comfy, perfect for a good night's sleep. The room’s vibe was outstanding—clean, with a large TV and a radio by the bed that played Mariah Carey's "Fantasy," one of my all-time favorite tunes, which really got me hyped. The room’s setup was very stylish, especially the closet. It featured transparent glass doors with cool lighting inside that added a modern touch. The bathroom didn’t disappoint either, with bright lighting and excellent water pressure in the shower, creating a spa-like atmosphere. Another fantastic feature was the hotel's spacious rooftop, which occasionally hosts parties, adding a vibrant and eventful feel to the stay. Additionally, the gym was top-notch, well-equipped and maintained, making it easy to keep up with my workouts. Overall, the Thompson Hollywood is a must-stay hotel that truly makes your visit memorable.

Great clean place with great staff. Probably my fault but hotel has a Hollywood nightclub at bottom floor that bumps the whole hotel. Even a couple Xanax didn't knock me out until 2:01 in the morning when the music stopped. Cool place though.

Room 4 stars: The room was really nice, but the bathroom vanity is small for 2 people. There isn’t really any counter space to put on make up. They had a full body mirror by front door but low lighting and no plugs close by to use curling iron or hair dryer. Linens and bed were comfy, but be warned that they do have a rooftop bar that they turn into night club every night with music. We were there Thursday- Sunday and you could hear the music until 2am every night. So that was disappointing for such a nice hotel. The pool and restaurant were great for late lunch. The pool is heated too with great hillside views. The area was walking distance to Tao and cool sports bar called 3rd base where we caught the NBA playoff games. Overall a decent stay but would not stay there again if you want to sleep at decent hour.

Love this hotel! Rooms are a little small but everything else is just perfection. We had a great dinner of Steak Frites sitting at the bar upstairs with some delicious cocktails. The bar and nightclub were bumping and super fun. This morning breakfast and coffee upstairs was awesome. Great customer service all around from check-in to all the restaurants where we ate. It was clear that great care was taken to ensure each guest's experience is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. But the real standout at Thompson Hollywood was the impeccable service. Every staff member we encountered was not only professional but genuinely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay. A highlight of our visit was the rooftop area. It provided breathtaking views of the city and a perfect atmosphere to unwind after a day of exploring Los Angeles. Terrible stay at the Thompson Hollywood. The condition and design of the property itself was pretty good, however it's clear that Guests Comfort isn't their priority. Noise from the rooftop bar parties, and in-house restaurant Mes Amis resonated through the rooms well in 2-3am each night. If you're travelling with children, don't bother if you expect to be sleeping at all. We stayed 4N and were unable to get adequate uninterrupted sleep the entire trip. Hotel staff were understanding and accommodating, however, despite a mid stay room change, the difference between rooms on different floors/area of the hotel made little difference.

No mini fridge, no fan in washroom, can't even get bottled water from downstairs as they don't have any nor any vending machine. I settled my bill two days ago when I checked out, and now today I have another charge on my credit card from them with no updated email or anything. I now have to call tomorrow on my holiday to ask what these additional charges are for. This place is so overrated, will never be back.

The Hotel is very nice and clean. The room service was available till 4;40pm , I Called and put a note that I will be out in 30mins so that they come and clean my room. But they did not come in the first day and then for second day I tell them in person and they clean my room. Roof top restaurant was amazing. You can have a Hollywood sign view from the roof top.

Staff were very rude. I forgot an item in the room after the checkout, and the front-desk person ‘Stephanie’, kept me on hold for more than 20 min with no response for multiple times. All she had to do is tell me to call back or a status if they found the item. In this day and age its really surprising to see silly behaviors like hers which can kill the reputation of any hotel. Common sense would be helpful if they’re representing the property. When called the 3rd time she even lied saying Im not her and did the same. Can’t believe how is that professional in anyway! With that said, there was another gentleman who followed up and lmk that they couldn’t find the item. Which was fine. Wasting customers time and putting them on hold multiple times with no response is beyond frustrating m. Hope fhe property manager will take care of this person and the behavior!

I liked the decor inside the property very beautiful. The check in was late because they were cleaning the room. When we got up to our room our carpet was wet in multiple spots which was super annoying when getting ready. Due to the push out of the room not being ready we were rushed at dinner. Also the fridge with drinks was warm so we couldn’t enjoy those beforehand. Overall for the price I would not stay here again
